I did love this, especially for the price I paid for it. But ultimately I returned it. One morning I looked down and had a giant battery pack, USB splitter, extra external storage and I thought to myself...it makes more sense to return this for the X. But it still is a beast for the price!

Honestly...its better than i gave it any credit! Feels like a sturdier switch and plays games relatively well! Id say if youre really serious about one get this one highly recommend it!

It's really good, the only thing I don't give 5 stars is the battery that runs out really fast, but plugged to a good power bank it just runs perfect

This thing is great! Generally getting 60-70fps on medium settings for most games. Have played Halo Infinite, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Need For Speed, and a few others with great results. Depending on the wattage you’re using, the battery life can be pretty short (I’ve been seeing just under 2 hour times), but the 65w charger gets this thing fully charged in 60-90 minutes. Important to update the drivers manually from the Asus website (Armory Crate doesn’t find everything for some reason), but once that’s done, this thing hums. I cloned and replaced the factory ssd with a 2tb ssd to make more space for games without needing to mess with micro sd cards. It was a super easy swap. Love how repairable this thing is! Overall, would recommend.

It’s perfect just perfect it has some of the best performance it’s definitely better than the steam deck Is it worth $700 it’s complicated because you are getting 2x the performance and a better screen so for me it’s worth every penny.

Performs very well, nice to not have to check compatibility …can play all my PC games. Feels more solid than switch (probably due to lack of detachable joycons). 512GB isn’t much, so I immediately upgraded to 2TB SSD and 1TB micro SD.

I didn’t like it every card I put in to it for extra storage was fried and it seemed to over heat pretty easy

An amazing device, I could play any game from any launcher and it was gorgeous. However, the display stopped working and I fear the RMA process. The device is only worth the gamble if you don’t mind the price. Pros: lightweight, ergonomic, highest-class performance Cons: drains battery, could fry SD cards, unfixable when design flaws show up (and replacements aren’t guaranteed to be better)

Purchased this on a cross country trip as i forgot my dock for my switch. This should not be asvertised as a gaming handheld. Its freaking windows 11. Horrible os. Plauged with same junk update after update u get on a pc. Bloated down on a weak handheld draining excess battery life. Not to mention when logging in it tried to sync to my home pc. Like why would anyone in the right mind want to sync a dinky 512gb hand held device to their home pc and waste massive amounts of space and time downloading useless programs for a hand held. Not designed with gaming 1st in mind. Windows needs to just stop. I despise apple and only use windows on pc but this is just invasive and inappropriate for a hand held. Cut all the bloated os crap and focus on gaming only. Period. If i wanna install office ill do it myself

While I did rate this product “Average”, I do think it’s a cool device. But currently, windows handhelds have a lot of room for improvement. Mainly in the battery department. The screen is good and the speakers sound nice. A major downside of this device is the horribly joystick dead zone. This is not a good device for shooters. IMO, the Ally is the best PC handheld but the concept needs time to mature

I returned my Steam Deck. The idea of a handheld gaming PC is a great one, but Valve’s offering really just does not have the horsepower to make good on that proposition. While it still has a lot of compromises and unstable performance, the ROG Ally has given me an experience that has been more in line with what I was led to expect on the Steam Deck. Windows hasn’t been an issue after setting the sleep button to Hibernate, as the Big Picture feature of Steam has essentially always been a SteamOS emulator. In summary, this product is what the Steam Deck advertises itself as, and unlike the Steam Deck itself, nothing less.

Can play most games nicely but has some draw backs on those really pretty games. Early on my sdcard port was fried due to heating issue but I hear they’ve resolve that: wouldn’t know cuz my port is fried.

Wow! This thing is amazing! It’s played everything I throw at it. Would definitely recommend for a computer gamer wanting more portability!

Solid little computer which perfectly meets my gaming needs. Powerful enough to play all the games I love on the go. Perfect for traveling and even better with the external battery pack I have.

If you are computer savvy and know what you're getting into this is a pretty solid device. Preforms games well but it gets hot. Really warm. Design was done well and I question some of the layouts. Windows is a weakness and a strength. If you know how to navigate a PC you'll enjoy tinkering to get things working. If you want something that just picks up and plays, get a Steam Deck or a Nintendo Switch. Also, don't buy a MicroSD card. It will fail from whatever reason. It's the main reason there are so many returns of the ROG Ally. ASUS needs to do a recall and fix it.
