You need to have a good understanding of how to use and troubleshoot Windows 11, but this thing is a beast for techies. Be prepared to do all the updates out of the box. Patience pays off as this thing is an amazing PC gaming device and a huge upgrade over other handhelds like the steam deck. It wont disappoint.

Is an absolutely amazing handheld for gaming can run all the AAA games well if you don’t know how to work windows it can be a little tough but doesn’t take long to get use to is definitely worth the money especially if you don’t have the time to put in on your console or desktop

Great product! I initially got this because I don’t have the time commitment to buy and use a full gaming PC. This was a great alternative, and it’s easy to use on the go. Although it runs windows 11 so the random pop ups do get annoying.

The Rog is an amazing handheld with minor software issues. Aside from that the battery life is not great but the same as my steam deck. I like that it’s smaller than the steam deck but would still love to see them with a second iteration which is pocketable. Other than that thank god for the 120hz screen.

I've been using this device for a few months now and absolutely love it. It is more powerful than my desktop gaming computer in many ways. One of which is that it runs Starfield perfectly while my desktop cant! It takes some getting used to but now it has become an everyday carry item.

Perfect for me. I can see someone who is not familiar with Windows 11 having issues setting up or dialing in. But for me, i have no issues getting into the weeds with Windows 11 and Armory Crate. In the end, I love the product and how it performs.

You will see positive and negative reviews on this item. But coming from over 30 hours of game play on it I can tell you I’m my opinion this thing is amazing. Plays titles live call of duty madden rust with ease. No hassle to setup either and no hoops to go through to try to get stuff to play like on steam deck

This thing is a beast when your playing a game at 120 frames, 1080p display, medium to high settings, it the mobile market this is unmatched. I for one did not mind the windows 11 bc armored crate works good. The biggest problem is that you can only play for 30-40 minutes while using the power the rog ally provides. Sure you can be plugged in but then might as well play your pc or console instead and if i have to drop the settings fown i preffer to play my steamdeck which configures stuff for you and 100% feels like a mobile console.

I have both a deck and this device and though the deck is better at a lot of things this devices screen and power make it great for things that won't or dont run well on the deck. The down side is that the deck was built around its os and this is running windows 11 and itis really its bigest down fall.

After reading reviews and first-hand accounts of the ROG Ally having issues with the SD Card reader, and purchasing/returning two open-box handhelds that has that I decided to buy it again once it went on sale. Been playing on it for a couple of hours a week and compared to before, the updates have helped with the overheating and keeping the SD card reader from burning out. I like the ergonomics of it and smaller size than the Steam Deck. I'll update this if anything pops up in long-term usage.

For those looking for a cheaper alternative to PCVR! This would be the perfect device: gamea like VRchat can range from 56-64fps ( low settings). Grim Lord VR: 37-48fps ( high settings) SkyrimVr (64 fps) low settinbs. I mainly play VR this way because it's convient for me. Its worth cbecking out

I love the asus Ally to death. It does have a SD issue on some units but ignoring that its the best handheld ive ever seen or used!! Also best buy has done a wonderful job handling the issues with SD. So its best to only buy it at bestbuy as they are handling each customer with care.

The software is not the most user friendly, especially if you're a life-long console player, but I think this area will improve as users become more educated and as Asus continues updating. The analog sticks are looser than I like, but I've already gotten used to it. I'm happy with all other controls and like circular d-pads in general. I don't write reviews, but the #1 reason why I wanted to write this one is because I have rarely owned a handheld where I didn't need a grip. This is one of the most comfortable out-of-box hardware designs I've ever experienced, and I have lots of classic and modern handhelds. The neo geo pocket might be on this level, but no mainstream modern handheld compares. At first glance, it looks like the sharp edges may cut into your palm, but it looks much sharper than it feels (hard to explain).

Absolutely amazing. Pretty much runs everything I throw at it at 1080p 60+ fps with some tweaking. Been playing red dead redemption 2 and FF7 remake for a second run and it’s been absolutely epic to play on a handheld. Completely new experience.

For most, there are a few things you need to learn to get a handle of this device. Though when you do, this machine is capable of whatever you want. I hope ROG keeps at it with updates and hope more people hope on the PC handheld train!
