The only issue is that Microsoft should develop a handheld version of Windows. The storage capacity is little small for todays games.

The only caveat is that unless you’re comfortable with troubleshooting on windows I would would not recommend it. It is a great device for emulation and could be a stand alone pc if you dock it to a monitor. The only other thing I disliked was sometimes having to switch the controller mode on certain games. It would also be nice to have a force quit button on the amroury crate to exit out of games faster.

But once you get past that, this thing is a beast. Would recommend as long as you understand that this is not a console like experience where you just plug and play.

I’m sure a lot of people would rather unbox it and jump right into it. But if you’ve got a little patience, there is a great payoff.

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was torn between the Steam Deck and this one, but for the price, you get “better specs” and it’s “Asus!” I bought it when I was about to become a father, hoping I could sneak in some gaming time while watching the baby. Never happened. Barely touched it for months. Then I added a microSD card—dead in 10 minutes. Tried another—same thing. Googled it, and sure enough, Asus placed a CPU heat pipe directly over the SD card slot, essentially cooking every card. They offered a “free repair,” but Reddit posts showed that after waiting a month, all they did was slap some aluminum tape between the pipe and the slot. The cards still burned, just lasted an extra five minutes. I hardly used it until one day I installed Stellar Blade. Finally thought I found a use for it since I love that game. Played 20 minutes, turned it off. Next day: random colored pixels on screen, forced shutdown, and it never booted again. Only the Asus logo. No BIOS, no OS. Asus support said, “Send it to a repair shop since your warranty expired… four days ago.”

It gets about 2x steam deck performance, and runs great at around 20 watts. I rarely use turbo mode. If you have used a windows pc, you will be fine. Im surprised by people saying setup was hard.

Although some have reported issues, I have had none so far with mine. Installed several games and it plays them all well. Beautiful screen resolution and brightness!

I have only out diablo 4 on it and it looks and run’s beautifully. I would advise setting a controller up to make it easier to control
