Trying to set up various game launchers to work when not on WiFi (aka on a plane) is clunky (not ASUS’ fault), and even when it does work there’s regular issues with crashes and forced-resets (which aren’t easy on the device), triggering startup error message that required reinstalling windows, etc All in all I think it’s almost ready for showtime, but the next iteration will be the one that “just works”. If you are a PC-holic and ready to deal with the janky bs, it’s amazing.

I must’ve got one that wasn’t that great, but the frames were pretty bad… if you get this don’t expect to play fps games or specifically helldivers- in my experience lol. It ran good with Dave the diver and the already installed moving out. I tried to play stray, and it had bad frames even as a single player cat game. Now I could’ve just got a bad model or something but it’s a great concept if it runs well.

Being able to play triple a games on the go in 1080p is great. Takes some getting used to and adjusting the wattage on games is interesting when it comes to performance

Such a fun thing to tinker with and is a very capable PC gaming handheld. Not for beginners. Designed for someone who knows their way around a PC for gaming.

Spend the extra money on the rog ally x. This one would be great if it was cheaper. I did have two issues with the motherboard and now it was returned for exchange but geek squad made it very easy process.

The fact that it runs on windows means you have to de-bloat all the usual stuff a gaming device doesn’t need. It plays most triple A titles around 30-40fps but in lowest setting…Oh and it fried my SD Card from the heat the fans produce, so consider upgrading the internal storage for more space.

Rune slow but once you configure it, it becomes a more enjoyable experience. But I’ve had the SD port break on me twice now and it’s very annoying. Take that into consideration before buying.
