I just bought it and it's terrible to give it up for that long

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing, and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Please note that there will be updates for the ROG Ally in the future that will improve overall system performance and stability. Sending the device in for repairs is the best way to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Repairs typically take 7-10 business days, not including weekends or shipping time.

Just get ready to spend about as much time tinkering with settings and performing updates as you do playing games. Terrible battery life killed it for me. I don’t want a mobile gaming device that has to be plugged up 70% of the time.

Best Windows Handheld, period.

The extra money goes into processing (look up reviews to see the difference). This is the best Windows handheld gaming device, hands down, without compromise. Careful about using the SD card without adjusting temperature settings though! There's known issues where it can overheat without adjusting fan curves. Luckily Asus makes this really easy to do with the ArmoryCrate software.
