Must buy for portable console lovers.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only giving four stars in terms of battery life and buying open box. They literally dropped the price by $100 3 hours after I had bought mine. However they were nice enough to return the difference. The system is amazing , the ease of use and button mapping. The led color changing lights are nice at night. The screen is amazing. I actually put this over the steam deck I have. I don’t mind always having it plugged in. But if you’re the one to have an outlet by you all the time. I’d get the steam deck.

Worth it if you are aware of the cons.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product! There is some pros and cons. Pros: Powerfull, well made, feels like a “controller”, run windows (also con) Cons: Battery life, soon or later your sd card will stop working so is better to buy a large storage (1 or 2tb ssd or more), 512gb nowadays is kind of real problem, and windows (sometimes you get stuck with some minor issues), But still loving my ROG ally extreme.

Portable pc
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can play AAA games on the go, just connect to your phone hotspot for better wifi connection. The only downside of this great machine is the battery life. Currently playing a AAA game, from 100% battery down to atleast 20% in an hour of playing without the charger plugged in. It's either you'll need to plug it in the wall charger or grab a powerbank that has atleast 65w power output for more juice when you're outside. You might wanna consider getting a screen prtoector, and a case for added protection of your device when travelling.

Best handheld hands down
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only issue with the unit, and i mean only is the battery when playing games. All other points this is the APEX of all handhelds rn. Steam deck is amazing 100% but its got a couple snags, gotta order it threw them and its not great for emulators or Roms. The Ally is great at everything your desktop can do. Windows 11 runs beautifully and buying the charger dock makes it whatever you want it to be in everyway. Touch screen helps you 60% and the anolog can help the other 40. I recommend it if you want your pc with you and games when you leave the house. Worse case try it and return it in 15 days. You wont but aye thats what i did. Thanks best buy for being customer friendly

A Promising Gaming Handheld with a Major Flaw
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS ROG Ally 7" Gaming Handheld boasts an impressive set of features, including a high refresh rate, powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor, and ample storage capacity. However, a critical flaw in the form of a faulty MicroSD slot significantly hampers the overall user experience. Pros: Powerful Performance: The AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor delivers on its promise, providing a smooth and responsive gaming experience. The 120Hz FHD display adds to the immersive gaming visuals. Ample Storage: With a spacious 512GB storage capacity, the ASUS ROG Ally ensures that gamers have sufficient space for their favorite titles, apps, and media. Sleek Aesthetics: The white color variant adds a touch of sophistication to the device, making it visually appealing for gaming enthusiasts. Cons: Faulty MicroSD Slot: Perhaps the most significant drawback of the ASUS ROG Ally is its unreliable MicroSD slot. Users have reported issues, rendering it virtually unusable within the first month of usage. This flaw not only limits the expandable storage options but also raises concerns about the device's overall durability and reliability. Initial Usability Concerns: The reported issues with the MicroSD slot contribute to a frustrating user experience, especially for those who rely on additional storage for their gaming libraries. This flaw can be a deal-breaker for potential buyers seeking a reliable and fully functional gaming handheld. In conclusion, the ASUS ROG Ally 7" Gaming Handheld offers a compelling package for gaming enthusiasts, combining powerful hardware and an attractive design. However, the serious issues with the MicroSD slot undermine the overall quality and reliability of the device. Prospective buyers should be cautious and consider alternative options until ASUS addresses and resolves this critical flaw.

Great except the for the battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would rate this as 5 stars except for the low battery life and some FPS issues. For me the battery last less than an hour when playing any game that have come out in the last five years or so. I highly recommend getting a hard shell and an SD Card for extra storage. Runs Satisfactory like a champ

Good 1st effort
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid first gen machine it can play everything from retro to modern title's. Three problems plague it. 1. Micro sd card slot placement over the exhaust i havent had this as a problem but some people have reported micro sd card failure due to the heat from the exhaust. 2.for good or bad it uses full on windows as the os it updates all the time. But the biggest problem is the battery you might get 1 hour play time depending on how demanding the game is. Dealing with all that i love its easyier then lugging around a laptop.

I love my Ally
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Ally. Playing games on it is amazing. I would recommend you to know a little bit about windows if you want one. It's awesome being able to play games on steam, epic games store, ane Xbox game pass. And if you like emulators this is a Beast as long as you have the knowledge. If you're playing a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 the battery will not last long. If you play a game like Stardew Valley The battery will last a lot longer. Also a nice thing about play games on the Ally is that you can Mod the games.

ROG ALLY: the Value King for Handheld Gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic gaming handheld! I deeply enjoyed playing on the go with the Ally. It's a fantastic gaming handheld with a much more useful profile for Game Pass games, and a wide rangs of multiplayer titles that get locked out of playing on Linux based handhelds (e.g. BF6/COD). Even AAA shooters run solidly on this delightful handheld. If you had told me 20 years ago I'd be playing *THESE* games on something this small, I'd have never believed it. The fact BG3 runs smoothly at medium settings for hours is such a marvel of engineering. highlights below: Pros: -Performance. HD2, COD, Diablo IV, BG3, etc. You name it, the Ally can play it. This is a screamingly fast handheld with the ability to play 98% of games very well and anywhere. outside of the absolute bleeding edge of AAAA games on high resolution, this will handle anything with apolomb in a tiny, compact package. =Superb value, especially given the Z1E CPU which handles nearly every game easily. Very responsive and buttery smooth 120hz screen with some of the best motion I've ever seen, frankly better than some entry level 4k60 tvs i've played on given the sheer pixel density and instant response time (resolution is nice, but jumping without tearing is better). -FANTASTIC ergonomics. This is very light and comfortable in the hand and plays better than any other PC handheld for long gaming sessions. Others were much heavier. Cons: Navigation on Windows: I don't love the no-touchpad approach on a Windows device, though recent software updates have made this MUCH easier and in line with the newer trackpad-based ones. The touchscreen is solid, mitigating this a bit. -Tiny bit of fan noise at Turbo settings but this can be mitigated by adjusting fan curves in the software or playing with the power profiles. -battery. This is the key difference relative to the Ally X--40 w is a bit small and the 2 hours of gaming is much shorter, need ready acess to power cables/banks. -512 gb is smallish if you have a big library--but it's VERY easy to upgrade (2 minutes) and unneccessary for most users. TL:DR. This is a great alternative to far more expensive devices, especially given the (minor) hassles of battery and fans can be dealt with in the software.

ROG ALLY
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love, My Rog ally. There are so many bad review out there. Come on, You can't expect a newly lauch device to work fawless on day one. Im sure asus will work out all it's issues with there device and it will run flawlessly. Havent had all the issue with mind. It plays all the games i throw at it. Battery life is not all that great but it includes a 65w charger that charges it up less than 30 minutes to full charge. If you're use to running windows pc you will have no issue. Its truly a pc plus handheld built in one device.

Really Fun
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is it perfect? No. Is anything first gen perfect at first? No. Is it worth your money? Well i cant answer that for you, but it was worth mine. I like being able to wind down at night and this is perfect for that. Its windows based so its pretty flexible. And if you already have xbox gamepass, then you already have a library of games at your disposal. Emulators? Yep. Good screen and speakers. It is reparible too. You need more memory?u can install it yourself. Get a little dock like i have and you can use it as your game machine and general purpose computer. 5/5 for me. I know they are going to work all the bugs out and this thing is going to be solid!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS Rog ally Z1 extreme has been performing well for me. I am able to play from steam, xbox ultimate game pass and Playstation remote play very easily. This handheld is lightweight and fairly quiet with the fans. LOVE the Ally.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played games on my actual PC since I've got this. I've even put MORE into gaming because now I can play anywhere! I love that I can run any game I wants with mods included if any. The quality is really great. The battery life is average 2 hours depending what I'm playing. It doesn't bother me too much since it will either be a good time for a break or just plug it into the wall behind me. I love my Ally so much! If you are a girl and have smol hands - do not worry, it still works great :) .

Gorgeous Windows handheld gaming device
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted the power of a gaming PC and portability of a handheld device. This device doesn't disappoint. I can play the games that I usually played on an old core i3 gaming pc, but better! If you don't want to spend much updating your old gaming pc, this is an amazing purchase. Note: To play some games, tweaking is needed, is a windows handheld gaming device after all, so If you are into tech stuff this will be no problem. Also, the Spigen set is a must have: screen protector, slim case and travel case

Awesome little handheld!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great handheld, I use it almost every day. With a good case, a dock and some grips for the controller and this thing is a beast! The only disappointment I have is the SD card reader not working but I'm sure there will be a fix for that soon and who really games off of a SD card anyways? All in all I give it a 4 stars but it would have been 5 if everything was working properly.
