I like the ROG Ally. It's comparable to the Steam Deck in many ways, and it actually can outferform the Steam Deck. Thought not nearly at the levels that Asus originally touted. (50% better??? Not even close) I can run games on the Ally that the Steam Deck struggles with. But unfortunately, I have to be choosy as to what games I download. The 512GB of internal memory is only good for a handful of games, and the Major Flaw is with the placement of the SD card reader. I cannot trust this device with SD cards as the Ally will cook the SD cards due to the heat produced by the device. My Samsung SD card was rendered inoperable because of the extreme heat inside the Ally. Even if I cranck up the fans I do not want to risk any more SD cards especially the more expensive 1TB cards. Asus has not really offered a solution to this issue and I would like to know if Best Buy or Asus will replace the SD card the ROG Ally broke. Its too bad because the device itself is good. But the expandable card reader is flawed.

Based on sale price. (Would be 3 stars at full price) Needed a replacement for a Chromebook and a Switch. This thing clicked all boxes for me. Not the most powerful device out there, but it can handle anything I throw at it. Mainly light gaming and work stuff (non-tech industry). Definitely worth a look if you don't plan on gaming at 4k and need a hybrid set up.

Honest review The setup is pretty long and can sometimes be annoying I recommend the first thing you do is the updates, not just windows update but the Asus armory crate updates as well If you are able to hook up a keyboard and mouse it would make the setup a lot easier Performance is great Can run almost any game at 720p Storage is not the best because modern games are usually 100gb a pop but you can upgrade the storage pretty easily and add an SD card

I’ve been using my ROG, & I love it, not enough to say about how much I like it. If I knew how much I like I would have invested in a more expensive one & don’t buy a desktop. The only bad thing is that the fans get too hot & the blow hot air to your fingers sometimes. But that’s not a big deal, also the battery lasts only one our but that’s ok since I’m always connected.i upgraded the ssd to 2tb & the OS to steam OS

As someone who travels frequently, I found the common gripes with this device a non-issue (battery life, mostly). The performance is excellent when plugged in, I only need to carry with me the original charger and a power bank (which I already have since I travel frequently). I use this in addition to my main rig, so as a secondary travel device I highly recommend it. If you want this as your main PC/gaming device, I would suggest a laptop instead

This exactly what I wanted without having to buy a new pc I absolutely love this so much perfectly for on the go the battery life isn’t to good but when I have it on the docking station most the time I have no complaints

I love my Rog! Im a cozy gamer but love pc games. This handheld is perfect. I have the power of a huge desktop in the palm of my hand so I can game in my comfy places. You also have a ton of games with game pass and 3mons free to try it out. Best purchase!

Awesome purchase. I was on the fence for a while about a handheld PC. Even made a video saying that you should a year before this purchase. I am happy I did. Easy to install SteamOS on and haven't had any real issues. Only had it for less thsn a month makes gaming so convenient. I can game anywhere with this thing.

The ROG Ally Extreme version plays Destiny 2, so that's something. Apart from a shorter battery life, everything else is easy after all the updates and softwares. I did through research between steam deck, ally, Lenovo, and few others, but this one was definitely the best choice.

Bought it to use on a deployment gave me the ability to stream movies on a projector football games for the guys, hours of gaming It's extremely capable for a device of its size when used in a docked format with external screens. Short battery life when playing graphic intensive games. Stock storage is 512gb I changed out the SSD for a 2th SSD

Purchased because i was wanting to have something portable and it does not disappoint. I have had it for 6+months and play on it almost every night. Being a windows machine i was able to download from steam, xbox, ea, and prime for all my gaming needs. The functionality of the armoury crate is neat as well. The only downside to the purchase was the hard drive space but thats an easy upgrade/fix with a external drive or if your are tech savy the internal installation is easy as well.

This is basically a Portable Gaming pc! Now I can play all of my favorites anywhere on the go! The specs on this makes all of my games run very smooth like Destiny 2 and COD MW III. Since this is like a gaming pc it could be a little complicated for younger kids to use. The only “downside” is the battery life but even then it can easily solved with a power bank.

Amazing product. Great for on the go and at home. with the power of AMD's RSR and AFMF2 you can get tons of performance out of this unit. The battery dies fast like this. But if you plug it in, it's amazing.

This is a solid handheld if you’re familiar with a windows platform. Though it is hard to navigate the touchscreen inputs. Overall build quality is good. Battery life is awful. But paired with a solid portable power bank that has a minimum output of 65w you can get some long sessions in at high settings.

Great and powerful device. Requires knowledge of windows and it is not a very good pick up and play like a Nintendo switch. Be prepared to tinker with this device until you have it set up how you like it. Great for emulation and runs triple a games very well. Screen is nice and vibrant. Controls are solid overall as well.

I did not know how life changing this item is, since I have problems in my back and im not able to be sit for more than 2 hours, this is really good cause I can be playing on my bed and it runs every single game I like

This is an awesome handheld PC packed with adequate power to play lots of pc games. I am surprised to find out that I can even play Microsoft Flight simulator on this tiny pc. I did spend extra to upgraded the ssd to 2TB and bought a dock for it which allows me to play my games on my 4k TV. Great performance for the form factor.

I really enjoy the rog, its able to play all my games and it's a pretty nice handheld computer.
