Pretty Good! But I’d rather take a PS5
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was lightweight, the buttons felt nice to price, it wasn’t very loud like a ps4, and the speakers were nice. Windows ran really well when it came to using the web. However, the touch screen isn’t the best as I often had to keep spamming certain applications for them to even star loading. As someone who has played with a controller their entire life, the feeling of having my hands stretched out so much did feel odd, but that’s not the consoles fault.

Great handheld, can do GamePass and Steam natively
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the weight and sleekness compared to the Steam Deck. The screen also is where this item shines. Don’t expect this to be a console; Limit your expectations and understand this is meant to be a portable handheld! :)

Ally beats every handheld
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Ally. It works perfect. Plays all my Blizzard, Steam, and EA games. Plays Diablo 4 with zero problems. Short battery life. Make sure you get a powerful car charger if you are going to play it on the road

Proof we live in the FUTURE
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was able to buy an open box model. However after a couple days of tweaking/updating it and trying out some of my favorite games, I have decided to return it. DISCLAIMER: this thing is AWESOME. It is a full fledged computer in every sense and even better! I already own a perfectly fine gaming PC, and don’t care to go through the necessary setup with this, just to occasionally play it. PC gaming is still very keyboard/mouse dependent, but from what I’ve seen with docks the Rog Ally is 100% capable of that. Something like this (perhaps a newer version), May very likely be my next PC. The 4nm chip architecture has half the performance of my gaming PC, and with less than 50watts to power it!! Absolutely amazing! Again, just not for me at this time.

Good job Asus!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is amazing. The screen pops. The controls are responsive, although a bit clicky. The joysticks have a great feel to them. The triggers are nothing to praise, they are good quality, but ordinary. As of now this system has 1 issue. SD CARDS. The 512GB of storage fills quickly. I purchased an SD card to expand my storage, and it stopped working after 5 minutes. The SD card will over heat and fail. To expand storage, get a bigger 2230 nvme. It takes less than 10 minutes to swap it, and about half an hour to restore your system using asus cloud service.

Amazing product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing can run any game at a stable 30-60 FPS. I played through the entirety of RDR2 and never went under 30, sometimes hitting 60. Incredible. Battery life is the only negative, but that was expected.

A next generation handheld in your hand.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rog Ally is a next generation when compared to the Steam Deck. Although, Windows is buggy and annoying at a times but you get so many options to do with your handheld without the need of dealing with errors if you choose to install games from various platforms (GOG, Epic, EA, etc). However, if you like using docking stations (TV connection), Rog Ally isn’t seamless compared to steam deck. An update could fix that. For me, the screen itself in Rog Ally is a worthy upgrade. I upgraded the 512gb to 2Tb before I even started using it. It’s the best handheld gaming device in the market.

Amazing product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing has a ton of power inside of it and has great performance for many games that I’ve tired. In my opinion it’s the best way to get games in the go with having a laptop or a giant desktop with yiu

Convenient and fun
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works really well and love the game play. Can get hot if you’re not letting the air flow. It’s a handheld pc so it’s awesome. Photo is compared with a switch light. Much bigger screen yet not heavy

Love portable gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I take this with me most places and i love it, i do use it more like a portable desktop though using a portable monitor. My spouse gas the ally x and it js nice too. I just wish it both had more ports and that rog make a dock themself that has an adequately powered adaptor. Oh and upgrading the storage was so easy !!

Steam Deck killer
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ok, I have both the Steam Deck and the Rog Ally. Both are similar in size, and have the same screen size, resolution, and storage. that's where the similarities end. Here is where the Rog Ally excels over the Steam Deck. 1: ability to adjust and customize the GPU settings. can't adjust the GPU settings on the Steam Deck. 2: ability to play all Steam games. Steam Deck is still having compatibility issues. 3: recognizes external storage devices like thumb drives. Steam Deck does not. 4: full version of Windows 11 all in all a much better and more versatile unit than the Steam Deck.

Great device not so much battery life
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for gaming on the go! Definitely sucks that to be able to use top performance you have to sacrifice the battery life.

Super powerful at at a low price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks cool, works great. Has ran every game i have thrown at it so far, with little to no tinkering with settings. Battery life is short, but thats expected with so much power in a small package.

Good bang for the buck with some caveats
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good - it's a nice piece of hardware for the price. It quite literally will run aaa games usually on low-mid settings (still looks great on the small screen) windows is not as bad to deal with on the handheld as some say (if you're not looking for the console experience the steam deck provides). The bad - the buttons and joysticks don't feel aaa, they feel like a well built but generic brand controller, think powera or whoever makes the decent off brand Nintendo stuff. And as everyone else has said, setup is a pain to get everything updated and running correctly.

Rog Ally
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a decent handheld gaming system/computer. Im still learning and adjusting on how to use it. Nice to be able to play games from steam, ea, epic, and more. Battery life is ok, but if youre running a bigger game it will drain it fast and also heat up. The sound it outputs is really nice, a lot better than i would have expected! For being my first handheld pc, i think i got my moneys worth. But i think that some improvements could definitely be made

Gives the steam deck a black eye!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where do I start? This thing really has been my ALLY since I purchased it. I was waiting for Dell to drop the UFO but Asus got the jump on them and made all the things I wanted about a handheld come true that the steam deck just didn't have. Full windows 11 with microsofts blessing + support, constant driver upgrades to enchance the performance, inverted thumbsticks, beefier hardware, a 1080p 120hz freesync display with 100% SRGB coverage, and all the AMD goodies baked in like like the 720p to 1080p resampling that gives you insane fps boosts on a handheld like this. I've had a blast using a mouse and keyboard with this thing at work on my breaks, and often I use itas my main work PC! Can't recommend it enough!
