Terrible Customer Service

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I would have looked more into this before purchasing, but ASUS is terrible with their warranty repairs. They have been very notorious for marking off things as "not covered under warranty." After being informed that the damage is not warranty covered, they will attempt to charge you $300 for the repair, or they will send it back unrepaired. After having mine suffer this unfortunate fate, I can't see myself buying from ASUS again. Even if yours doesn't end up needing a whole repair or anything, the SD card reader WILL break, and thet is a guarantee. The SD card reader is what made ASUS extend the warrant on all ASUS ROG Allys. So it's either uou send it in to get charged $300, or you live with it. Get a Steam Deck, a Lenovo Legion Go, or an MSI Claw.

Get a switch instead

Just get a Nintendo switch or pay the extra for the Z1 Extreme

Good product

The problem I had is it was not powerful not for the games that I Wanted to play. And without a stable internet connection. It was not a product.

Only get a open box if you can inspect in person

No Xbox game pass working

Get the Z1 extreme,

Not the best option for Retro PC Gaming

Unfortunately, the ROG Ally couldn't deliver. The on screen keyboard would not register is many of my older PC titles. The AMD iGPU also had some compatibly issues when playing certain Directx9 older titles. In the end, the handheld was not for me. Software issues still need to be address with the on-screen keyboard. AMD also needs to fix their driver support for much older titles.

Poor quality everywhere

So many issues with just simply trying to use it. It’s not worth $400 or $700 at all. It even feels cheap. Worth $200 tops after taxes. Way too many bugs. Some of my favorite games don’t even work on it. It’s a great idea for a handheld console but executed poorly. Too bad, I was so excited to have this item

Functionality Lacking

Great for everyday use
