Bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it. She plays her steam games and genshin impact on it with no problem. It does drain the battery pretty fast, but having a power bank or plugged in solves that issue.

    Good handheld helped/hampered by Windows

There are only two things that stop this from being a 5: Windows and the existence of the Steam Deck. Ah Windows, the double-edged sword. It provides the access to games that Linux/Proton-based SteamOS can't, but Windows just isn't built for controller- and touch-based navigation. ASUS tried to make up for it, which helps a bit. The Ally is better for running Windows, but the experience needs to be improved. The Steam Deck is about as close as you can get to a console-like experience for a PC handheld. It does a dramatically better job in the UI/UX department. The Ally feels good in hand, runs games well, and has a reasonable battery life for the games it can run. This Z1 processor version is underpowered compared to the Z1E version, so as long as you keep your expectations in check this'll be a good buy.

I recently purchased the Asus ROG Ally, and I must say, it has become an absolute lifesaver during our car rides and downtime at various places. This portable device has not only kept my boys entertained but has also managed to make our journeys much more peaceful. The device's battery longevity has consistently met our needs, making it a reliable choice for on-the-go entertainment.

It was good when I had it, I don’t have it for long but it had no issues that far, idky I returned it to get the legion but I’d be afraid of the sd card thing, otherwise it’s fine, it’s my fear that I haven’t experienced yet

The handheld PC priced at $399 delivers impressive gaming performance with decent frames per second, making it a compelling option. Its affordability, especially compared to the MSRP of $599, adds significant value for gamers on a budget. The device's ability to provide an enjoyable gaming experience at this price point makes it a noteworthy choice in the handheld gaming market.

This device has exceeded my expectations and has been easy to use and great to use. The limited battery hasn’t affected my gameplay and every game I have attempted to play has worked fluently. Witcher 3, Skyrim and even the Stray. It is quite the powerful machine. I also had no issues with the limited capacity, especially considering it can be increased.

I purchased the lower tier version, due to price, and was surprisingly impressed after hearing all the bad things about it. As long as you tweak some settings, i was running the division, days gone, elden ring and many more between 45-60fps. Ive also tried the legion go, and while it has a bigger screen, the software for the ally go is much more user friendly.

First off, i really like this product. It is perfect for gaming on the go, or even sitting at home. It is very easy to use. I like that I can do all the things that I normally do on my computer, I can do on this cpnsole. The only downside is that the console is bit heavy so after gaming a while it gets hard to hold.

I love this thing. It basically became my entire rig. I just use this with a dock now and havent used my desktop in months. Runs fortnite pretty smooth. My only complaint is 16gb ram is just not enough for the pig win11 has become and it obviously cant be upgraded. When the 32gb z2 models start coming out I think thats gonna be the moment where this is all I really need and I can dump the desktop entirely. As a comparison I also have a lenovo i7 1165g7 laptop as well and this device outperforms it pretty much in every task... so I havent used that laptop in months eaither.

I can do so much on the Rog Ally! I can play game pass games, remote play to the PS5, steam, pc, and much more! Absolutely love my Rog Ally! I wish it had a bigger hard drive, but external storage works great!

We owned it for 5 months and it was great at running games and things like emulating, but it broke 2 times during the 5 month frame. This caused us to return it but we were offered free repairs/replacements both times.

10/10 a lot of people say that the z1 version is slow, but when you go into armory crate and set actual 100% fan speed, it runs a lot cooler and better. For example, i was running hitman 3 at 70 FPS at 1080p medium settings. You would be surprised by how well it performs for the price

Great lil' on the go game device. Dont expect to play modern FPS or really detailed games on this thing but it does small and simple games as well as older titles perfectly. Ive been playing Divinity Origional Sin on it and have had no problems. Battery life is pretty meh but it will last at least a couple hours.

Love this handheld, I've been a console/PC gamer a long time and I was surprised how much I enjoy the Ally. I got a universal stylus and play civilization. Also fallout 1 & 2 with a keyboard and mouse connected. I don't feel like I need the more powerful version, this is more than enough for my needs.
