My issue isn't necessarily with the console itself (although it arguably could be since there was an issue with the hardware) I bought a Z1 extreme last year at launch and absolutely love it, still working without any issues. Bought an open box regular Z1 yesterday that was listed in excellent condition. Got it home, turned it on and it kept restarting (full shut down/shut offs) instead of sleeping. Finally babied it through the activation process and as soon as I got it ready to use it BSOD'd. Ran diagnostics through the My ASUS app (HIGHLY recommend that you do this if you buy an open box because it's obvious Best Buy doesn't actually inspect/do bare minimum tests on these items) and it said the hard drive was failing. Took it back to Best Buy today and all they did was offer to give me my money back. I explained the manufacturer's warranty and they threatened to charge me for a Geek Squad repair (despite the My ASUS app showing that I needed to work directly with Best Buy for a repair). When I showed them that I *had* to work with Best Buy/Geek Squad for a repair they finally relented and said that they could do it but that it would take weeks and weeks to complete and there was no guarantee I would receive a working unit at the end of it. It was obvious they had no intention of actually trying to resolve the issue/value their customers or their time (I was forced to drive all around town buying it and then returning it). They didn't even offer to help me purchase another one and get it shipped to me after I reluctantly agreed to a refund and just kept trying to upsell/pressure me to buy a full price model.

Really great for portable gaming for low demand games, I would recommend being close to a power source for the best performance. Battery is less than impressive but expected in a machine this powerful.

The ASUS Rog is my first step into Windows online gaming and this device is absolutely amazing!!!! I installed a Micron 2tb M2 SSD and a 1tb SD card for optimal storage.

The ROG Ally was on sale for 400. I just couldn't say no. Have wanted one for some time to play FFXIV in bed and it does beautifully.

At first I wasn't entirely sure what I was looking for when it came to a handheld for gaming. If you're looking for something that you can play the classics on the go, use for game streaming and even play some good AAA games on the go, this is for you. It's not the most powerful little machine out there but considering what I paid for it, I say it was well worth the price. I enjoy and use it almost every day, it's a lot of fun to mess around with and once you find the right settings to play under, you'll never wanna put it down. I would recommend buying a dock as soon as possible though so if you wanna have it connected to your monitor or just a bigger screen you can do it easily!

Played palworld decently, high on life no problem, but heavier games like hellblade gets glitchy. I’d say it’s a slightly upgrade switch with desktop capabilities

Overall decent handheld. Battery life is bad though, and kind of buggy. But display looks good

Worth Buying if you Travel a lot, Best Handheld to do every thing with. Even with GTA Rp it still runs smooth

That the ROG Ally is recent in it's debut, is true. Though in it's short limelight, it's shown stronger features than just its hardware, the Operating System for one. It not being linux allows it to be more managable with more new games. With it being also portable, the size and weight of the machine plays a role. The hefty weight and, at times, cumbersome nature of the "filled" out feel of the Steam Deck is a mark of quality. However, with the Ally being lighter and more compact, it's helped make it easier for transportation. The feature that hopes to set the scales for which one to choose is really a matter of preference between the customization of the others or the Ally's ease of use.

Bought for grandson, and he loves it! Wants to play nonstop and hard to get him to put it down

I like this product a lot just light gaming time to time is really good but I’m returning it and get the Extrems just because I been getting into more demanding games

I was very surprised by its amazing performance i love that I can take it anywhere I want to and play my games. It also feel pretty comfortable in my hands.

It is a perfect consolidated PC, it has a great screen, the controls are adapted for long hours of gaming, with the latest BIOS update the battery performance was greatly improved

Bought this over a year ago and the kids still game on it about every day on the go works great

First time setup was a little rough but after that its been running great, runs a lot of my steam fames with no problem but xbox games to take a while to boot up

Best handheld I ever had. From how it feel in your hands the color contrast to the performance . Can’t beat if for this price

The Ally is a great handheld for anyone wanting to take their desktop experience on the go. The customization like different colored leds and various power modes is amazing.

Stardew Valley, Doom (1993), and Minecraft have ran well. The wattage change feature is good for controlling how you play.
