Good battery life, great performance, but lackluster screen. And definitely a mini jet with its fans. That all being said, still one of the better handhelds on the market

This thing is a beast. It’s like carrying a mini gaming PC in your hand. The screen is bright, the 120Hz refresh rate is super smooth, and it runs most games way better than expected. Great for on-the-go gaming or just lounging around without being stuck to a desk.

Installed bazzite on it and it runs AAA games amazingly. Battery life is way better than anything else on the market and can go even longer when running emulators. Perfect handheld for me!

Honestly very fun can play old games and ne games with no problems fans are not too loud and sound is amazing with AAA batter life could be better but as long as its pluged up games run smooth

The graphics are wonderful during game play. The battery lasts a long time. It stays connected to my xbox and the remote play is excellent. All the specs are better than stated! I love that the sticks change color during play, and while charging!

Incredibly powerful, improved design, and better battery life. Ever since I purchased this I havent been able to put it down. I owned the Ally z1 extreme before this and it's a noticeable upgrade in almost every category.

Love it, the best I wanted to upgrade from a laptop to something more portable, even though the pricing is steep in my opinion it's completely worth it because you can bring it anywhere and also play almost any games and so far I haven't had any games issues would recommend. The 1 TB is also great but I upgraded to a 4 TB instead

The Rog Ally X is a great companion device if you've got a pc and want to play games on the go. Plus it helps that this device has a bigger battery than most of the other handheld devices on the market.

The device is great and all without a doubt its portable and very useful for gaming on cloud or a portable desktop when you have an adapter. I recently purchased it to have for gaming and travel. This Ally X stands to it’s promise of battery life of 4 hours without change and no lag even with Race-Tracing on this its beast with a E-GPU. I loved it real bad but few days later i had issue with the data read on my storage kept saying something about storage full. I couldve fixed it but its $900 device and i cant risk my fault from damaging it. But it is worth buying if you dont get a faulty one like i had. Which it couldve just been someone else when. I bought it used. Though BestBuy does look through it and fixes it. I just couldnt ill wait till every it good up-coming years. Keep up the great work BestBuy.

The ROG Ally X is an awesome handheld gaming PC. The performance is great thanks to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip and 24GB of RAM, and it runs most modern games smoothly. The biggest improvement is the battery life compared to the original Ally, which makes it much better for longer gaming sessions. The screen is bright and smooth with the 120Hz display, and the controls feel comfortable even after playing for a while. Since it runs Windows, you can install games from Steam, Xbox Game Pass, and other launchers, which gives you a lot of flexibility. The only downside is that navigating Windows on a handheld can take some getting used to. But overall, if you want powerful PC gaming in a portable device, the Ally X is definitely worth it.

I have a steam deck already and enjoy that but wanted something that could handle a bit more. Just picked up the Ally X. Be prepared to set it up and download updates for the first couple hours. There are some great videos on YouTube guiding you through basic setup and optimization as well as giving a few tips. Definitely watch a few of those first if you have any concerns about windows. Once it was set up I played whatever games I wanted. Good framerates and really easy to use. It has been a really good experience so far and I like have access to all of my game libraries without having to do work arounds. Joysticks feel really good, it is comfortable to hold. I was able to play black ops 6 unplugged for over two hours while on the run. So the battery life is sufficient as well. Very happy with the purchase.

ROG ALLY is one of the best hand gaming so far. It was easy to set up connect with my other game apps. The battery durability,it is not heavy to hold or carry.

The Ally X has become my go to for PC gaming. From indie games to most of the latest AAA, it runs them. It's definitely not going to be on par with a top of the line gaming PC (although FSR and upscaling works some witchcraft that makes it seem on par), but it also doesn't cost $5k and it's easier to carry. When I'm not in the mood to sit at my desk to game, I can grab the Ally X and head to my couch. I also have a Steam Deck, but I prefer the Ally X because it runs Windows and can have all of the gaming ecosystems on it, and since it's Windows it can have the security that some games (like Fortnite) require to play. You can also upgrade the storage to have all your games available. Overall, this is a great device and one I fully recommend to any gamer.

4.5/5 - I previously had a Steam Deck OLED and was looking for a little more performance and this device delivers! The battery life has been exceptional and the VRR screen makes me not even miss the OLED. My only minor complaint is Windows 11 on a handheld like this is less than ideal, but I haven’t had any major issues, just minor bugs here and there.

This is a great overall handheld device, works very nice, customizable, and very comfortable to grab, long battery life and better performance than other’s competitors such as lenovo legion and even steamdeck. Highly recommend it.

This device has really impressed me with its performance and sleek design, especially for a handheld. For starters I arely write reviews, but seeing the low reviews, I figured I would give a review. I have a steam deck and a rog ally x now. I didn’t have a problem with shipping. I bought it on launch day and recieved it the next day. No issues with shipping. Coming from a steam deck, the user experience is very much different. From a steam deck the user experience is much more user freindly. Much for a casual gamer. You can definitely do a bunch of things(very much equal) on the eog ally, but as a user experience I very much enjoyed the steam deck. As for the rog ally, its been a bit tuff to navigate. It requres you to he a little more hands on. Its not as butter like steam os, but considering the rog ally is running windows 11, its bound to be a bit jittery/ unpolished. The ergonomics feels great in the hand. As for battery its very good! Gaming on the device does require a little tinkering with settings but nothing you can’t do. Overall if you’re a casual gamer who just want to play some games with minor tweaking (albeit some games would not run at all) I would go with a steam deck. In the other gand if you’re someone who wants to play tripple A titles and doesn’t mind tinkering with the awful windows 11, I highly recommend the rog ally.

I didn't own a steam deck but always recommended it to my friends. I decided to wait until one of these companies figured out how to make a windows handheld last as long as the steam deck or at least get close. Why? Cuz I want to be able to play everything. And this does that, I have comfortably played and beaten a few games. I'm currently playing ratchet and clank rift apart on it and yes, it doesn't run as perfect as running in on my 4080 gaming pc. At 900p, I am lucky to get a constant 40fps but the fact I can play it mostly comfortably is crazy. On lesser titles, this thing is a breeze. Emulation up to 360/ps3 is also really good. The only reason this isn't my main computer hooked up to an eGPU is cuz I already own a gaming pc. But if I didnt, I would be using this for everything. So why wait? Well it doesn't have an oled screen and I believe it was cuz they didn't wanna sacrifice variable refresh rate? I'm guessing that is technology coming to some of the models coming this year. It also should have an updated more powerful chip and I expect the next model to drop by next year with an 8" screen. And whenever that does drop, this solid machine will either be available for way cheaper or best yet, used for even cheaper. If you don't care about fomo, this thing is great and should stay great for a few years.
