Runs my windows games easily without requiring extra setup or workarounds. Great battery life. The new windows handheld mode has worked seamlessly so desktop is not necessary. Exceeded my expectations!

Just got the ASUS ROG Ally from Best Buy. Really impressed with the performance and smooth screen. It’s like having a portable gaming PC. Battery life could be better, but overall it’s great.

A lot of people say to skip this and get the ROG X. As someone who already has a good PC, this is perfect for playing games natively, alongside streaming from my PC with next to no latency.

This is wonderful. Yes intial set up and updates can take a bit but once you're up and running this is fantastic. Love it.

Fun while it works. My biggest complaints are that you have to check in when you start up a game so that your saves sync. Game crashes and you’re on a plane? Too bad… also it locks you into the audio output when you start the game- headphones plugged in works on start but if you unplug and go back to the game while it’s still up no audio- vise versa if you start with speakers and then plug in headphones… no audio through headphones. Why am I talking about physical headphones you ask? Because Bluetooth is broken in it- it’s a known issue. Another known issue is that it will get crazy hot- like I burnt my hand hot on an airplane because the power button isn’t default set to sleep- another known issue that you have to go in and readjust. And the last straw as I’ve really been trying to make it work is that it crashes. I’m trying to play this on planes and when offline for brief moments of relaxation while traveling and don’t want to spend that time tinkering to get an expensive piece of tech to work…

Honestly, it was quite a good experience as a person who never used a handheld before. I've seen other ones that performs better or optimized well despite its lower prices like the steam deck. But considering the current situation with the steam decks being out of stock, I think this handheld is an excellent choice especially when it is on sale. The performance wasn't so bad overall(although don't get too much expectation since it is apparently a downgrade version of the X model) and while it has some cons such as constant Windows updates etc, the comfortable grip is what makes this feeling of holding it much more compelling. The screen was also bigger than I thought as well.

Got this for my son to play some different PC games on. Basically it's a PC with all the flexibility of a PC. I would recommend for someone who travels and enjoys gaming. But it is not a full blown gaming council there are some performance drawbacks.

Arrived on release date! That was fantastic. The device it’s self is great, I have not complaints. I can actually use my Xbox headset to connect via voice chat without having to use wired connection, even connects to my shockz! I love it. Plays AAA games perfect, minor lag in cloud play, doesn’t not get hot like the Ally 7’s do. Battery Life is amazing, I have not run it dead playing COD yet.

Works great for the price. Don't expect a super powerful device. But for what it is, it's great

I previously bought and then returned the ROG Ally, not the Ally X, because it's interface with using just Windows as a starting point didn't work well for me. This Xbox ROG Ally is much more user friendly and seems more powerful and I've really enjoyed using it so far. It uses full screen Xbox or Steam apps which streamlines the user experience. I won't be returning this model.

with Gamepass, and access to Epic Games and Steam library, i can now play PC games conveniently from my desk at work, on my couch, or wherever. game changer for me, to finally play Spider-Man 2 without buying a PS5, and any of my other PC games, not bound to my computer. comfy for long play sessions, due to the built in xbox gamepad, this baby rocks! sure, the black version is more highly powered, but this one hit all my needs for a way more affordable price.

For anyone who is primarily a PC/X-box gamer this is an awesome alternative to buying a Steam Deck. Works on everything my daughter has played and she has had no problems with it. Little complicated to initially setup, must make sure not only to install all Windows updates but also ASUS device updates and drivers. Pairs perfectly with external storage and a hdmi monitor though that did require adding a USB-C port expander that added both USB-C and USB-A ports allowing a external keyboard and mouse plus external storage. Port Expander I bought also has Gigabit Ethernet and that is nice as well. Bluetooth and WiFi both work well. Internal SSD is easily accessible if you wish to upgrade to larger internal storage.

Looks brand new and it runs smooth as butter. Not only can it run current AAA games, but it is an emulation beast. It can run games from all past consoles

When we opened it and tried to set it up, it gave the option to select the language. We tried to select English multiple times, but the machine was stuck in French. I had bought the machine brand new and it seemed to be region locked. It was almost 3 weeks before we were able to even use it. I had to bring it back up to Best Buy and ask if other people were having this problem and they told me they were unaware of it. geek squad did end up fixing it for me for free however they said that they should have charged me which I think is crazy since I bought it brand new and it didn’t work correctly. Now that it is in English, it is working correctly. Obviously the storage isn’t as great as the black device but that is OK. It does the job.

So in love with Rog Ally X! Convenient and battery life is great. Now i wished i got the 1TB instead of the 500gb

The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally is a comfortable, high-quality handheld with a sharp 1080p/120Hz screen and great ergonomics. It runs Windows, giving you access to Steam, Xbox PC games, and cloud gaming, but performance is mid-range for heavy AAA titles. A good choice for portable indie and casual gaming — less ideal if you want top-tier performance for modern big games.

I got this a couple of weeks and loved almost everything it had to offer. The xbox grips make gaming really comfortable. The sound quality was really good. The picture quality was good for not being an oled screen. Having the ability to use steam, xbox, gog or epic launcher for games is really nice. You can also stream games from steam similarly to the Playstation portable. One thing id say is the power leaves a lot to be desired. It ran mass effect legendary collection good, halo master cheif collection good and left 4 dead 2 with mods really well. When it came to spider man 2 and battlefield 6, it was a rough experience with low ghraphical settings and turbo settings on. Tired to get college football 14 revamped working on a ps3 emulator and was getting 1-14 fps. Didnt matter if the revamped mod was installed or not, if it was on turbo settings or tweaked settings in the emulator itself. Id say either stick with the Rog Ally A1E or pony up for the ROG ally xbox x. I guess id say you would have to ask yourself if you wanna try AAA games on it or stick to more of older titles.

Great price and great performance. The does the job of what I bought it for and would recommend to those wanting to start getting into handheld pc’s.

I love this handheld. It functions well, though some of the buttons aren't as intuitive. The only complaint (which really isn't a complaint given the price point) is offline gaming. I use this when I fly and it works great for most games, but the lack of offline support at times is frustrating for Xbox titles. Steam titles do really well but don't expect it to rival some of the more powerful (and costly) systems out there. Overall I'd highly recommend if you like to play 2.5D or indie titles or just some fun gaming when you are traveling.
