I love this device it works super fast while gaming and it's convenient for traveling five star review.

I've bought Asus products almost exclusively for my personal computing and gaming needs. My partner needed something a bit lighter weight than a laptop but capable of playing games with me. So far the Xbox Ally, even the lower aspect version, has played every game we've wanted from Terraria to Enshrouded. The only real issues we've ran into have been with software not designed for this form factor rather than issues with the Ally itself.

Ally X provides a noticeable performance bump in AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 or Elden Ring, thanks to the faster RAM and the efficient Z2 Extreme chip. If you play indie games or older titles, the original Z1 Extreme model is still a "720p beast" that handles modern games surprisingly well with FSR (upscaling) enabled.

Product is great like an xbox in my hand build quality is excellent multi tasking is great as well. The staff at the woodmoore town center was great made my purchase easy and fast.

Ive had it about two months, and the analog stick snapped so that kind if sucks and its a probably 30 minute fix. Thats the only issue ive had. Otherwise this this is amazing.

This has been a great handheld gaming PC for the price I got it for. Thing goes on sale every then and now which I'd recommend now since stuff like the Steam Deck have gone up a ridiculous amount.

The ROG Xbox Ally X does not run Xbox console games natively. It runs the PC versions of Xbox games, such as Xbox Play Anywhere titles and PC Game Pass games. Console-only Xbox games can only be played through cloud gaming or by streaming them from your Xbox console. But it will play all PC games. Most AAA games run near high settings.

I'm new to PC handhelds so I have no reference to what's better or worst. I'm enjoying it for what it is, playing games on the go or in bed. It's really comfortable to hold and pretty much playall my smaller games navtively on it. Games like cyberpunk or call of duty I would just cloud stream them. Cloud streaming is getting really good, I can't the difference most of the time. I think the price is not great and I get it's a mini PC but most are buying this just for gaming. I think 400 to 450 should be the max price.

All around solid and powerful handheld gaming machine. Of course its a PC so it does ha e to be optimized by tweaking settings but it has ran every game ive tried pretty effortlessly.

Good for light gaming, good display, good battery life, great comfort.

I absolutely love this device. Great size and resolution with comfortable grips and smooth controls. Easy to st up and use and I get all my gamepass game on the go and the 3 month subscription is a nice bonus!

Runs most games but not all but it can run mostly everything at low settings

Runs my windows games easily without requiring extra setup or workarounds. Great battery life. The new windows handheld mode has worked seamlessly so desktop is not necessary. Exceeded my expectations!

I’ve been playing with it for a few days now and I’m extremely happy with the purchase. The one issue to a degree is that since it runs Windows, you are going to experience typical annoying things. I ran updates through the Xbox app, then through windows itself, MyAsus and Armoury Crate. Of course the MCU update in Armoury Crate didn’t want to install. Annoying but the unit works great otherwise. Maybe the next MCU update will decide to install.

I got this fully expecting to need to return it because of subpar, or just flat out bad performance. To my surprise this handheld is actually decently powerful, you can fiddle with the power/graphic settings to play modern games at 30 fps, or in the case of older titles, say pre 2020, you can play many of them at max graphical settings locked at 60 fps. It's an all around decent experience even if the price tag is a tad on the high side.

Honestly, not what i was lookinh for but runs some lower end games like a champ and decent battery life. Just dont try and run anything insane on it. Ultimately not for me but still a solid product

I got one of these for me and another for my fiancé. We both love it! We both get to play together without having to be in separate rooms. The ROG ALLY works great there has been one issue with the charging where it would turn off and wouldn’t turn back on unless it was plugged in even if it was fully charged. But, we took it back to Best Buy and the shipped it to ASUS who fixed the issue and everything is work great!
