    A little overpriced imo. They used cheaper hardware so the battery could last longer, but at the cost of performance. Still a solid handheld.

    I really liked the speakers. Picture, size, grip and ergonomics are all great as well. The problem for me was the software. Having to call customer support twice during an initial boot up is never a good thing. When i did get it running, it really under performed. I did my research and i knew what kind of performance i would get and the limitations of the games i could play, so I didn't expect native with a solid 60. I do however expect a 600 handheld to play Ori at 30 fps, with fsr on. Maybe its better now, maybe i got a dud. I returned it for a refund. Hopefully with some patches this will be better.

      We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing performance issues with this ROG Ally. If you're unable to play games properly, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS and games are up to date. Updates for the ROG Ally are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_download/. Additionally, check if you are running the most current Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/. You may need to reconfigure your system, video, game and operating mode setting ensuring this is not going beyond the game's threshold. Furthermore, while accessing cloud games, ensure the device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. Keeping the device always updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

    Great handheld for someone getting into pc gaming. Not quite optimized for pc gaming and not a huge selection of Xbox games that can be played. Although price per performance isn’t great.

    While it has impressive hardware, the user experience compared to the steam deck is extremely lacking. Even though this is branded as Xbox and should have had Microsoft support, it simply feels like windows on a tiny screen. It hasnt been optimized for the form factor at all. This starts at the login screen, where the finger print reader suddenly stopped working, and extends to launching games that don’t know youre on a handheld device even though they work perfectly on steam deck.

    Decent machine just not for me. If you only have a couple games you play at a time or no system at home this could be great. I purchashed this mainly for mobile gaming and unfortunetly it doesnt work well without internet. Even games downloaded on the system take 10 minutes to open, compared to opening a cloud game on wifi only took about 1 minute 30 seconds. It doesnt make sense to me gow cloud games run better then installed ones off network.

    This device has very little compute power. It has less power than even the predecessor Z1 Rog Ally. For this price there are better gaming handhelds. What I would say has going for ir is the ergonomics.
