ROG Xbox Ally X 7" FHD 120Hz Gaming Handheld - AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor Summary: An awesome power packed hand-held gaming device. Use: I'm a PC gamer. I have to sit at my desk or at a table with my laptop to play games. After a long day at work, sometimes I want to play games - but I'm so tired of the chair I just can't do it. So I don't get to enjoy games as often as a result. I've been contemplating a console for quite some time, but I haven't purchased one because it is still something I can really only play in one spot. Enter the ROG XBox Ally X. This device is so cool. It is a gaming PC in the palm of your hands. Console controllers on each corresponding side. Asus did stand-up job ensuring the feel of the handles and the unit feel like an XBox controller - with one not-so-small 7" difference. The display is superb. It is crisp and bright and is also a super responsive touch screen. I installed some of my favorite go-to games. Games I would have to sit at my desk or use my laptop to play. So I downloaded Steam and downloaded Doom Eternal, Hogwarts Legacies, to start. I was in for such a treat as I sat in my living room playing Doom Eternal next to my family (watching Halloween Wars). The game controls were seemless, smooth, and responsive. The display bright and quite easy to see. The sound... the sound is markedly much better than something I'd expect from a handheld. There were times I thought the sound was coming from my surround sound system in my living room. Marketing materials do say it supports Atmos. I'm so excited to be able to play some of my games where ever I please. One thing I had not tried was streaming games from my desktop - something Steam reminded me of when downloading Destiny 2. Raw specs: * 24 GB of memory * 1 TB of storage (for OS and games) * 80 Whr battery * Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor w/Radeon GPU * 7" 500 nit 1080P 120Hz 7ms display Pros: * Form Factor. It's awesome. I can separate myself from my work/gaming laptop/computer whenever I need. I can go play outside, at the park, or at a cafe (if I wanted to - not that it makes sense). * Battery. I played a few games for a few hours in full experience mode and the battery was still well over 50%. This means that a full charge should get me more than enough gaming time with the 80Whr battery. * 2x USB-C 4.0. Charge and hook-up an external display such as your TV/projector. * Dedicated UH-2 MicroSD card slot for additional game storage. This is the first device of this form factor dedicated to gaming - for me. So it's a bit difficult for me to offer up some cons. The Windows, mobile, and XBox OS convergence Microsoft has been orchestrating for the past decade allows the truest form of gaming portability we've seen to date. Literally, "game how you please." Cons: *Occasionally some of the nuissance Windows things peep through when playing games not optimized for hand held experience. Windows flashing or having trouble resizing when going in and out of full experience mode. Not really an issue - most of this was probably just me getting used to the interface.

The best purchase I have ever made, not only to play in my free time and when I travel or if I need to make a clear Excel document that can be done and check more things in the palm of my hand.It weighs nothing very light and easy to handle .

It’s. a good product I like the portability; I can play anywhere.

Not a 1-1 with console and you dont have access to the full Xbox console library but if you have a decent amount of pc games and most importantly Game pass itll be perfect. Also access to steam and other platforms if you already have games there. The sales on those are usually better and sooner than the ones on game pass anyway.

This one was not for me from start up of the device dealing with Windows and all the drawbacks of it here is how it went. Boot upnrun through wondows set up Update windows, update xbox app update armory crate. Finally downloading games start up game can hear game running nothing on screen having to switch to desktop mode so i can click on the game icon so I can see the game finally this happened to me on multiple games and I was playing less demaning stuff Batman Arkum knight, Hitman Shadow of war ect all had the same issue, Game crashes to black screens for extended periods. I couldnt justify this price tag with the issues so I retuned it and got a steam deck oled much happier with that. The Xbox ally if you can deal with wondows issues can be a good machine and when I was in game things that stood out was great preformance great sound from speakers I just think wondows is holding this one back I kinda wish this was just an Xbox hand held because my libary of xbox games is over 300 I was a xbox gamer until 2021 now im pc. Yes dealing with windows on pc is not an issue but on a handheld is just fustrating. I mostly run my pc on a tv in big picture mode.

My first pc handheld , and its awesome love everything about it. the shipping was on time by bestbuy as always . I recommend this product if you want step into to pc slash xbox gaming ... bought a case and a dbrand skin makes it look even more sickening .... oh yessssss...

Any game i threw at it, it performed phenomenally, this is a wonderful piece of hardware. It’s lightweight and feels great in my hands, why haven’t you got yours yet?

I wrote a review for this item after I get by a month ago , the screen is big enough for personal gaming and I got ton of great to use for my leisure time but pricey and waiting to get a month for this new set.

This was the greatest purchase I made for 2025. The framerates are amazing on this device and it's an Xbox. I use the device everyday and as my first PC device for gaming, It's realy making me want to stop using console and go full PC.

I am having trouble finding compatible games, especially from EA sports. They dont have NBA 2K at all but you can olay Madden. Another problem is you can pay, download a game and it may not be compatible. Refunds were fast butvthe aggravation. Need for Speed was the specific game. No the games are not free. They seem to run on a pc format for handheld devices ONLY but nothing is stopping you feom downloading on that’s incompatible.

I love this gadget. Worth buying for myself as a gift.

Best hand held. I’ve had so far. Speed is amazing can play all the games in my library. Cloud played too also cross play from my Xbox to my rog

Excellent buy! Really worth the hype and demand. What they’ve managed to do for a handheld from a technological standpoint is impressive. The ergonomics also feel great!

It’s great but I wish the screen was at least eight inches and I strongly feel they should have opted for an OLED panel instead of the current LCD.

Wonderful device, my only qualm with it is the 1TB SSD, if it came with a 4TB SSD I’d be giving it 6 stars!
