I love the ergonomics of this, Ive had no issues with the new full screen experience. I di wish it was an 8 in screen. Also thunk they should've kept the menu buttons in the same spot from the og ally.

Quality is good didn’t open it until yesterday it was a Christmas gift but so far so good.

Screen not as great as expected vs the other new gen competing handhelds but it’s overall great device

The Xbox ally x is really cool and i can play both xbox and pc games but the one thing that disappointed me was that i cant play my full xbox library

So much power in a handheld. Can run AAA games at 60+ FPS and honestly the ergonomics alone beats every other pc handheld out there on the market

Just so everyone is on the same page, this is not an Xbox. It is a handheld PC with some Xbox features. If you can accept that, you'll love this.

I think there are some kinks to be worked out. Not user friendly. Not a pick up and play like the switch or other handhelds but once you get it it’s good.

I never really play on handhelds, but this one is very user friendly. I really like how easy it is to switch between xbox cloud gaming and Steam games.

ASUS had the perfect opportunity to make this one of the best units out there: What's Missing: OLED Screen 32GB DDR5 Real Product Stand Reasoning: Once you experience an OLED screen, it is really hard to want anything else. The darker blacks with richer colors that just seem at home on a 4-digit price range console. 24gb of system memory is an insult for a product in the 4-digit price range. 32GB would have been a good balance of 16gb for the GPU and 16gb for the system. ASUS either as a joke or just trying to fill the box, put a cardboard handheld stand to prop up your $1000+ device. Either don't insult anyone by including this, or put a proper one in the box. What's good: The feel of an XBOX controller, either you love it or hate it. For me, I like the XBOX controller feel. The unit feels solid in your hands, especially for those long-haul games. The placement of both USB-C ports at the top is great since most bottom-facing ones get in the way when you are putting it down. A fingerprint scanner that actually works well with this setup. It is in the power button and didn't have any issues reading my fingerprint every time. The size, this is probably one of the best-sized handhelds, along with the Steam Deck. It is not so big and heavy like the Lenovo Legion Go. Along with the size, the weight is reasonable, and I didn't feel tired holding it for extended periods of time. What's bad: No backlit buttons. For someone who comes from Switch, PS Portal, and this, we all know the button assignments are different. This is where muscle memory starts to fade until it kicks in. The RGB rings around the joysticks are too bright and further diminish the visibility of the other buttons. Button placement for the XBOX, Options, Co-Pilot, etc are too close together. I found myself pressing the wrong button in an intense boss battle, only to lose. Experienced some screen tearing and lag on Frontier Hunters, which is not a very demanding game. Mostly attribute this to memory allocation... Too many updates from Armor Crate... ASUS has way too many issues, from the looks of always pushing updates on a daily basis. The plastic casing feels cheaply made. Does not have that "I paid over a thousand dollars" feel to it. Even the Nintendo Switch has a better plastic feel.... Final thought: If you are in the ROG camp, no review will persuade you one way or the other.. If you just want a good handheld that might last more than 6 months, this will work. There are a ton of generic ones on the market too, but I can't trust them. If you can get your hands on another brand, consider it... but if size is one of your needs, this should be fine. The average user will not notice or might not care about the things I listed here.

I love my rog xbox ally x . I know it’s not a console but it fits what I need it to do . Great economics and Gand play

Good for running newer AAA games after tweaking settings.

Its basically an ally x with much better grips and slightly better os experience. Z2 extreme is not a big step up from z1 extreme so if you want more powet buy msi 8ai

The Xbox full screen experience works great. I rarely have to deal with Windows at all.

My son is a gamer hoping he enjoys his Xmas gift. Only concern is the change in return policy. This is a Christmas gift but cannot be returned after Christmas.

Had the ROG Ally Extreme and this thing blows it out of the water. Best thing is my hands don’t hurt or ache cause it’s so comfortable!!!
