I love my ally x. I still use my steam deck. But when I need that extra power to play AAA games this is the way. Does it have issues. Yes just like any tech. It runs windows so yes you have many aspects that need to be managed. Armory crate, Xbox app, windows updates, app updates etc. All said I would recommend this to anyone that can afford it. $1000 isn’t a small amount of money. This device will replace your gaming laptop if that is what you use. Ps make sure you get memory expansion. Either external or micro ssd.

This machine not only fits my needs but exceeds them. It's definitely worth the purchase if you're still deciding. I didn't just want a handheld console but I needed a companion that could bridge the gap between my professional drive and my need to unwind. While most people may not be in the market for a handheld computer like this for professional work. That was my main use case for the thing. Being able to game on it makes it all the sweeter. I do 3d work in blender, and was skeptical about the capabilities of a mobile device. But color me impressed, with a mouse and keyboard this device does the job better than some engineering laptops I've used. Treat yourself and get one

The product is great, when I first got the Xbox rog ally x both games and system are great. Playing pc games on the go is a benefit when you don’t have time at home, but entering my 3rd week with the device I have notice a few bugs that’s been bugging me. Sometimes the Xbox controller wouldn’t connect properly, the Xbox UI is a bit choppy, and the touch screen turns is self off and is unresponsive having me to do a shut down or restart. Honestly might return before my return windows closes

Just an amazing system, love being able to play on the go. Battery life and everything else is amazing. Highly recommend

This is a really nice hand-held computer. I think the whole concept is nice and the quality and craftsmanship are nice and well thought out. I have had literally no issues at all with the device. Just keep in mind it is a hand held computer and you are reliant on the windows Xbox application (or steam) to play your games. That experience is on its own accord.

Gaming portion of the device works well. Initial updates and setup took a long time as well as getting rid of Windows/Office bloatware that no one should need on their gaming device. Once you get the settings configured and start playing games the device works well. Just try to stay away from the Windows side of the house as much as you can, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Best performance console , high quality and high resolution

Graphics are amazing. Game play is smooth and the upload between console and handheld is fast. It charges fast. The only issue I have had is there was a glitch with an update where the system would restart randomly. I bootedbit up in bios and backtracked the update andnthen delayed updates for 2 weeks and when it did the update the next time it worked fine.

It’s great works well out the box and easy to understand the ui

Just know what you are getting into. This is NOT a portable XBOX, but a portable Gaming PC. The pluses, way more powerful than STEAM Deck, XBOX Full Screen Experience, although in its nascent state is a winner, the speakers are great, and the the ASUS Armoury Crate is a very mature and stable software suite. The negatives, the screen should have been better. It's expensive for what it is. However, all the gaming PC handhelds are the collection of compromises and none are perfect. Overall, the ROG XboX Ally X is the easiest compromise to live with.

Easy to use, works like it's supposed to, easy to install

Good product easy use being able to play steam games pc games and xbox ecosystem make it shine. But like other cons that have been stated screen size lack luster screen size and not being able to play all your x box games is a let down. oled would have been a plus but not a deal breaker.

With the price increases on handhelds now this Xbox Rog Ally X , stands out as the leading contender in purchasing a handheld that allows great quality gaming. Runs steam excellent, Rogs custom app allows easy configs from graphical to display, brightness and frames. Not to mention it runs the Z2 extreme processor which is the same as the Legion 2 but cost 2X the price as this XRAX. I got a open box for $899 . If your looking for a handheld to play the latest AAA games with no issues look no further . This handheld is awesome!

Right out of the box, if I start playing a game with default Armoury Crate/AMD Adrenaline Functions, games in general can run pretty poorly, worse than a Steam Deck, which runs many things well out of the box. But, if you really take the time to optimize these settings, this blows every handheld out of the water. It really is great; you just need to put time into optimization, and then it is pretty hands-free after that.

I am extremely impressed with this purchase. It will run games my cheap gaming laptop cannot. It's fast downloads, fast booting applications and games. Great on the run to friends houses or having it docked to utilize my mouse and keyboard or just hop on the couch in front of the fire. 10/10 recommend buying this for yourself or a friend that wants to get into gaming
