    It’s very nice but the battery went out after a couple days. Device wouldn’t stay on unless plugged in. Warranty is covering the repair but it seems it’s very delicate.

    Refresh of a Refresh .. AVOID

    Simply put, this is a mere refresh of a refresh. This is almost exactly the ROG Ally x from 2 years ago, with little handles added. ASUS cheaped out BADLY on this 1. same EXACT screen as the original ROG ally.. what??? 2. no hall effect joysticks. 3. single usb4, competition doubles this 4. TINY pathetic 7" screen despite bulk 5. Almost zero performance gain over previous generations NOT an xbox either. just a windows handheld. Long story short, get an msi claw 8ai or a legion go 2 (or a cheap clearance previous ally i guess)

      We do understand your disappointment with the ROG Xbox Ally X and the inconvenience this may have caused if it did not meet your expectations. Certainly, this ROG Xbox Ally X is not a minor refresh of the original ROG Ally from two years ago, but rather a significantly upgraded version of the ROG Ally X from 2024. While it shares the same 7-inch 120Hz screen as previous models, it features major overhauls to its chassis, battery life, memory, and connectivity. Also, it has an improve cooling system, ergonomic grip, upgraded RAM, Dual USB-C ports and equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, which includes a neural processing unit (NPU) for upcoming AI features, such as Microsoft's Auto SR (Automatic Super Resolution), which helps boost performance. Indeed, is is not an Xbox, but it comes with a "Full Screen Experience" mode that prioritizes the Xbox library and features a dedicated Xbox button for quick access to a streamlined interface, making it feel more like a dedicated Xbox handheld.

      Compare to an MSI Claw 8 AI+ and Legion Go 2, you get a better user experience with the integrated Xbox Full Screen software, improved ergonomics and controller design, and stronger performance, especially at lower power levels. Also, it offers improved power efficiency and stronger performance with the AMD Z2 Extreme chip.

    Paid $1000 to be a software beta tester.

    If a cockroach was a handheld gaming experience because this thing is so buggy. I am a dad with two kids under 3 and all I want to do is sit down and play some games in the limited time I have where I have it. Everytime I have picked this thing up it's been a 20 min frustration fest of updates restarts and 10 minutes of gaming before I either fall asleep or shut it down and grab my steam deck. This thing is too expensive to be this bad. I have to call out these high praise reviews. People are either being incentivized or simply don't have perspective on handheld gaming in 2025. I have owned each ROG handheld at some point and ended up reselling each. I am insane. ASUS needs to get out of the way if Microsoft is going to have a chance at making this a console like gaming experience. There's both Xbox and ASUS ways to adjust simple settings like microphone and screen brightness. It's weird. Microsoft also has limitations in how good they can make this since they essentially are just pointing to other game launchers. So this experience is only as good as those game launchers in a Microsoft windows experience. Today, this experience is just weird and not working well. I currently have a steam deck oled, legion go, and legion go s (steam OS). Each cost me much less than this ($650 max) and I would hands down recommend each of them over this device. Don't buy into the ASUS hype. This isn't a good handheld PC gaming experience and definitely is not an XBOX. On top of software issues my device creaks and cracks as I hold it. Feels cheap. In summary, don't buy this. Buy any other PC handheld on the market and preferably a steam OS device unless you need windows for your games anti-cheat.

    7” LCD screen for $1k?

    The ergonomics are awesome and games run well. However, the screen is 2.5 year old tech. Its not that its not oled but the screen is just too small. 8” would have been the sweetpot. I retunred my device.

    It may be too soon but i was expecting something totally different, for sure more pc than console, mine came with a creek on the right handle, battlefield 6 crashes on it, honestly i tried to like it so much .

    Not nearly as good as it should be

    It's fine. The Xbox Full Screen Experience isn't nearly as good as it should be, it's literally still running windows. You'll still have to install updates and drivers from literally 4 different places.

    Sticky AXBY Buttons - Defective

    Good performance, but AXBY buttons are loud and sticky. The A button keeps getting stuck in the down position, making it unusable for gaming. This appears to be a very common issue.

    Big disappointment

    Clicking,sticking buttons and creaking plastic body makes it feel like a cheap overpriced toy. Thumb sticks feel ruff around the outside limits perfect tension though. Angle of screen is backwards from direction it should angle and screen needs to be nearer to 8 inches. Wrists and thumbs ache feel like I'm getting carpal tunnel. Returned. Could have been so much better.

    The system itself is well built and performance is better than the previous z1 extreme, however the new armory crate is laggy and most of the time doesnt work hopefully an update fixes it.

    I could not get this thing to work. I downloaded the games, wouldn’t work. I had high speed internet and played online without downloading, wouldn’t work. I don’t know what the issue was but I bought this to help with anxiety and it only caused more.

    Before when choosing open box paid an excellent condition but its fair at best , tried getting the customer service to get it so i could get that price since mine was poorly inspected, i really enjoy the experience so far but sadly will be returning since the customer service didnt want to help . I had higher expectations since i bought a monitor open box and it was an actual excellent condition..

    Too many bugs

    Too many bugs and glitches and kinks that need to be worked out with it being such a new electronic. Price is also high for something that has the amount of issues

    Screen too small, good othersise

    A little underwhelming performance wise coming from Z1E. My only major complaint is the screen size. Anything less than 8” is a deal breaker for me

    I regret buying it

    It’s not a bad system but it just has so many complications. So many updates, it crashes my games and whole system at times. I already did 2 factory resets. Also the RT button gets stuck.I promise you my Steam Deck has never given me this much trouble, it runs better and it’s easier to use. I regret spending 1,200 bucks on this Xbox ROG Ally X
