By now most people know the story. I have to say that this is one of the best new Star Wars stories. Even though we know how it ends.....it's still sad and makes ya tear up.

As a Star Wars fan (old school), I was unsure what to think about a prequel movie without the classic characters. It did not disappoint. My new favorite Star Wars movie!!

Good entry to SW franchise. Definitely a better explanation for stealing the Death Star plans than in the old SW Expanded Universe and a nice reminder that Vader was just as evil as Palpatibe, but has some flaws (Forrest Whitaker’s scenes could’ve been deleted without harming the narrative, CGI Peter Cushing has way too much screen time).

This is a great addition to the Star Wars universe! As the first spin-off film in the franchise, I was cautious tried to keep my expectations realistic. Spin-off films and shows tend to be disappointing. However, Rogue One exceeded my expectations, and then some. The action and visuals were spectacular. Like many say, it's the Saving Private Ryan of Star Wars, or maybe even Band of Brothers (both great films/shows, go watch them), but PG-13. The story itself started off a bit fast and convoluted, however, I see that as more of a plot point than a con. The Rebellion is lost and confused about what to do to deal with the Death Star, which I felt that the "jumping around" gave the impression of. It also gave the image of all the forces that had to come together to make the final goal of the story possible: the theft of the Death Star plans. The second half of the film is spectacular, with non-stop, brutal action/combat. The dialogue was also great with many humorous lines. The characters could've used some more development, but it was good enough for the film. The acting also was done very well and is convincing. The music was also spectacular, and I often find it stuck in my head, but I welcome it instead of wishing it would go away. A con with the film, and my only big one, would be the "fan service." A couple fan service scenes were unnecessary, and felt like it took me away from the story, like a distraction (one from Jedha and one from Yavin IV). I really don't think Star Wars needs any fan service like that, and one plays into the "everything is connected" trope. It's a big universe, so it should appear to be like one. Overall, I think Rogue One deserves all 5 Stars. If you love Star Wars, you are doing yourself a disservice not seeing Rogue One.

I have always been a Star Wars fan since a kid and I have to say out of all the Disney films this is the best. This felt like parts of the prequel and original trilogy.

This Star Wars has no lightsabers or Jedi's. The force is not a main character. It has rebels fighting the empire and consequences. One of my favorite Star Wars movies.

This looked phenomenal in 4K. If you’re a Star Wars fan, this is a must have.

What a start to a classic saga! I wish we could have gotten an Atmos soundtrack for this movie. I guess I'll have to wait 4 the 4k. Great sound and picture though.

Rogue One is #1 ! If you like Star Wars and ready for a new adventure to continue the saga, then this is the movie for you! Amazingly written and the acting is superb.

This movie fills in some gaps they were mentioned in the original Star Wars: A New Hope. The ending battle with Darth Vader makes the movie definitely worth watching!

It looks godly in 4K, Vader scene at the end alone makes it worth the money.

“We have hope. Rebellions are built on hope.” Many years ago the father of Jyn Erso (Jones) was taken by the empire and was assumed dead. The Empire, has built a planet sized weapon called the Death Star capable of unseen destruction. After Jyn and the rest of the rebels learn that it was her father responsible for designing the weapon they learn of a built in weakness. Now Jyn, Cassian (Luna) and a small rebel group set out to steal the plans for the weapon and begin to finally fight back against the mighty Empire and its leader, Darth Vader. This is a movie that is basically review proof. It’s Star Wars so either you will see it or you won’t. That being said this is a must see movie. Since acquiring the rights Disney has made two movies in this universe. The Force Awakens was great, but essentially a large budget remake of the original made for the fans. This one, I like more. The first third or so was a little slow but then it picked up to the point of me not wanting it to end. This movie takes place between episode 3 and 4 but is basically episode 3.9. The movie is a live action version of the crawl before A New Hope. The movie ends right where that one begins. The CGI that was used was perfect and allowed you to really be transported back to the original movie. I was a little hesitant at first because this wasn’t part of the “Star Wars Episode Saga” but after watching this I have to say that this one fits right in perfectly and really adds so much to the original that it made be want to watch that one immediately after seeing this one. Overall, any worries about Disney taking over the franchise have all but vanished after watching this. This is the prequel the world has been waiting for. I give this an A+.

Streaming is more convenient, but if you are a Star Wars fan and you want the closest approximation to the theater experience, Blu-Ray is the way to go. Sure, I wish it was a Ultra HD / 4K disc, but for whatever reason Disney (or Lucasfilm?) seems to be holding off on releasing these for the Star Wars franchise.

This is a very different Star Wars than anything before, but it is now my favorite. Star Wars does World War 2, almost? Truly wonderful film, if quite bittersweet.
