    The Prequel That We Deserved

I can't stop watching it. Yes it reaches outside of canon for Star Wars characters, only 5 actually appear in the movie, but only as pieces of the greater story. But this takes on a whole different aspect of the story. As the writers and directors have stated, this is the WWII war movie of the Star Wars collection. Information gathered and all events lead to the ultimate battle. We see how everything comes to that one moment at the beginning of the original Star Wars. And Darth Vader is finally as we have always hoped to see him. Ruthless, powerful, unstoppable. I will also add that the Best Buy exclusive Steel Book is their best yet. If you are a Star Wars fan, it is a must. The case is absolutely beautiful. Do yourself a favor and get it.

If you've felt that something very essential to the SW's saga was missing after seeing 1-9, then this is the vital missing quest! When #4 begins with a "new hope" possibility right at that critical time for the failing and grossly overwhelmed 'resistance,' led by the ever-resilient Princess Leila, we, the audience, are introduced to another equally brave and resourceful heroine! Yes, yet another 'Ripley' boldly on a determined quest to save the galaxy exactly when it needs it the most. Sounds corny but it's not if you believe in "The Force" and its "good side." Great storyline too! As good as any one of them and maybe the best!

The last act of this movie totally saves it. The space battle are incredible special effects set pieces. Liked the characters throughout

    Proof You Don't Need Skywalkers

I was nervous when I first heard about Rogue One. After all, the characters were mostly new and this was the first film outside of the Skywalker saga. That being said, all of my fears were for naught!! I absolutely LOVED this movie! The characters were interesting, the story was good, and the effects were outstanding. I especially love that they corrected the plot hole of the Death Star vulnerability. No one would have been stupid enough to accidentally put a giant hole straight to the center of the Death Star. If nothing else, the final scene is enough to make this movie worth a watch. I won't spoil it, but it is incredible. This film has given me hope that the new Han Solo film will also be a great one. Good job, Disney!

An excellent war movie, of all things. It has a few things that don't work (Forrest Whitaker's character, not enough time for optimal character development for some). That last Vader scene is great, among the best scenes of Star Wars. Vader hasn't been given that kind of weight and forcefulness since perhaps A New Hope, and it was greatly needed after the prequel trilogy. I'm glad Felicity Jones was given this opportunity as I've thought she was a star in the making for years now. She doesn't disappoint, and along with Daisy Ridley, Star Wars has now given us two very good main female characters with the two new films. While the movie doesn't give us any Jedi battles, the space and planet battle that takes up the final third of the movie is the best battle spectacle Star Wars has given us. The Battle of Hoth will always be a landmark, but Rogue One gives us pretty much everything we could want as fans to see battle-wise. Being a more mature, more violent film, it was a very good idea to not give us more cutesy droids, but an actual battle droid that does some of its own killing, cracking wise along the way. What keeps Rogue One a step down from The Force Awakens is that while I think most of the characters work well, I'm not as invested in any of them as much as Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren. Considering their outcomes, I suppose that works out for me. Considering we will be getting at least one Star Wars film a year for infinity, we are for sure now living in a spoiled age.

This movie is great. The best of all new Star Wars films. Doesn’t have the nostalgia of the original 3 before Lucas added those terrible CGI scenes but a great movie.

Hands down the 2nd best SW movie right after The Empire Strikes Back, in my opinion of course. Sound stage is wonderful and the 4K DI makes this movie pure eye candy!

After this purchase was my first viewing of Rogue One. Personally I feel like this film is better than the prequels and even better than the nostalgia biting and fan pandering of J.J. Abrams' Ep. VII. The story, effects and performance is worth while and entertaining. Its a nice bridge between the prequels and the original trilogy with its own depth and story telling to stand on its own. Thanks to this bundle I can watch the BluRay copy at home, watch the DVD copy with my parents who don't own a BluRay player and the digital copy was easy to redeem and doesn't require creating new account with a proprietary service (I redeemed it to my Google Play but there are options for services like iTunes and Amazon Video).

    Best Star Wars In Decades

Rogue One was the best Star Wars movie since the originals in the 70s/80s. Even though you know, pretty much, what is going to happen, it's still a lot of fun. Especially the easter eggs calling back to the original movie..ESPECIALLY the two guys that Luke meets in the cantina in the original movie. A bit sad to see all these cool characters that you grow to love get smoked....but still a lot of fun. It was great to see the old Stormtrooper uniforms in battle again, as well as the old AT-AT walkers from the original movies. And it was extremely cool to see Darth Vader in his prime...which we've never really seen before....though the cgi Tarkin and Leia were a bit odd.

No spoilers on this review. This is a different kind of Star Wars tale that exists in the same universe that tries to seemlessly connect the two Star Wars trilogies while attempting to stand on its own. This movie has characters one can like on their own along with Easter Eggs from the already established Star Wars universe. An awesome unique plot combined with the dirty look and effects of the original trilogy. Well worth the add to even the casual Star Wars fan movie library or works just as well on its own, too. Overall, can't find nothing to complain about as the movie has good packaging, lots of extra on their own blu ray disc and a digital copy. May the force be with you and this Star Wars story.
