I'm not sure if I am supposed to review the movie or the SteelBook packaging. Briefly, I like them both. I liked the movie a lot. A lot more than I thought I would. Being an old Star Wars fan(age 19 in 1977)(Yes I saw it at the Chinese Theater), nothing can top the originals, but I think this comes close. Closer that The Force Awakens. As for the SteelBook, I only buy them for movies I love. I don't think it's worth the extra money otherwise.

The movie was suspenseful. The effects were amazing.

Unsurprisingly, with the Star Wars saga safely of George Lucas' hands, the talented writers and directors who have been Star Wars geeks since childhood have been able to give us a killer film that has some great new ideas and not TOO many nods to the old films. The new characters are very well thought out and everything ties nicely to A New Hope. Will this convert a non-Star Wars fan? Hard to say... To me, it's totally worth a watch either way.

I will not bore the reviewers with my thoughts on Rogue One. I purchased the Blu-Ray on the first day of release so that sums up my thoughts. Glad I purchased the steelbook edition. Best Buy is really onto something with these special cases. As for the BR discs themselves, they play great on my modest wide screen; the picture is clear and the sound is crisp. I've been waiting to watch Rogue One in my home after seeing it twice in the theaters!

If you are a Star Wars fan, it's a must see movie.

As a Star Wars fan for most of my life, I got to say I was very disappointed in this movie. I couldn't wait to see it after watching the trailers and after it was over, I just felt let down. There are some great moments in this film, including an amazing Darth Vader sequence, but they don't outweigh the mostly dull characters and lackluster script. The best way to summarize this movie is to say that this is the Suicide Squad of the Star Wars franchise. Great trailers that get you excited to see a bland film with many reshoots and footage left on the cutting room floor. As far as the steelbook goes, it looks great and is much better than the steelbook for The Force Awakens. The only negative is that it depicts a scene not in the finished cut of the film. 3 stars for the movie and 5 stars for the steelbook.

Crisp and somehow better looking than the already fantastic Blu-ray.

Bought to add to the rest . Grew up with star wars

This takes the Star Wars franchise into a direction that it has never gone into and by doing so a fantastic film was created. Unlike the others this is a true war film. Just like any other war movie there is of course a mission to be accomplished unlike others that are normally based in a true story this one simply takes place in the Star Wars universe. I watched this multiple times in the theater and have watched it several times at home.

If you're a Star Wars fan this is the movie for you.Taking place just before Episode IV, this movie tells the story of the beginnings of the Death Star and the Rebels stealing the plans which sets up Episode IV. Plenty of new characters to fall in love with and great action sequences and visuals. This is probably my second favorite Star Wars movie, 2nd to only The Empire Strikes Back. Do yourself a favor, run, don't walk, and pick this up!

Good movie, fills in some big gaps between trilogys.

One if the best Star Wars movies . Probably top 3 for sure.

Excellent prequel for those wondering "just how did those Death Star plans get into the hands of Princess Leia...". It was a great blend of stories to tie the first three prequels into the "original" Star Wars movie (Episode IV, A New Hope). Visually stunning cinematography as you can expect from of the Star Wars empire of films, pun intended ;-). Felicity Jones and Diego Luna were wonderful together and Donnie Yen was absolutely amazing!

The first anthology movie succeeded on all levels. It managemed to feel different but still feel like a Star Wars story. Taking place just before the original movie, there were lots of easter eggs and fun additionas for hardcore fans but the story and characters are what really drive this movie. The story is great and you really connect with the characters. I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid and highly recommend this movie.

While there was plenty of good visuals, it was kind of just a side story with small cameos from the characters we all know. It really didn't carry on the Star Wars story line. A little disappointed in it.

I don't know if I should review the movie or the steelbook - either way, it's a win. Any longtime fan of Star Wars will enjoy this new entry into the legend - this movie takes place directly leading into the events of the original movie (1977) and adds depth to characters we've known for 40 years. The movie is worth purchasing on any format, but if you are a collector like myself you'll want to track down this Best Buy exclusive steebook.

Provides a good back-story for the Star Wars saga, including the origins of the Death Star. Includes a very sarcastic robot, which adds some humor. Looks great in 4K.
