works well across all subscriptions such as netflix and amazon prime. remembers where i left off. the voice activation in the remote is accurate.

Great 4K, hard to calibrate (very few options) and continued compatibility issues with the HDCP 2.2 handshake, especially in 4K UHD Color mode.

We were using the built in apps on the Smart TV, and had no intention of getting a streaming device. Why get a device that would only do the same thing as your TV? Well, we found out that there are some key benefits offered by the Roku device that are not available on the Smart TV. 1) Buffering is much faster on the Roku. We would have to wait a few minutes for the full resolution to buffer on the Smart TV, but it is almost instant on the Roku. 2) Headphones can be used with the Roku by plugging into the remote. Very convenient to have the immersive movie experience without disturbing others. 3) Voice search on the remote. This feature is nice, but not all the channels always pop up on the search list. For instance, I knew Daredevil was on Netflix, but it did not pop up in the search. However, it is still useful when looking for movies across channels. 4) Casting movies to the TV. This is great because the built in mirroring on the Smart TV does not work very well. However, it only allows video streaming from your phone or computer. If you want full screen mirroring, you still have to hard wire using HDMI. Can't wait until this feature is added (hopefully it will be added). 5) Collects 4K content into a convenient channel so you can rent or buy more easily. Some of it is even free or included in your subscription services. 6) Access to channels that are not available on the Smart TV. There are hundreds of channels that you can access on the Roku. For instance, my wife enjoys the Beachbody series, but we can't get that on the Smart TV. Overall, it's an excellent device and expands the options available for your TV, even if it already has streaming options.

Faced with the thought paying Time Warner for a digital converter since they're going all digital in our area I opted to go the roku route. After much research I would say I my very pleased.

I have had this Roku 4 for 31 days now. It works great, as advertised most of the time. The main problem is the overheating and screen freezes. I have the unit resting on top of a table with great airflow, unfortunately it still runs hot. The software and all the channels you can add are awesome. It is just so annoying when the screen freezes and your only choice to fix the problem is to unplug and reboot. I really wanted to buy the Apple TV, they do not support 4K yet. I mentioned owning it for 31 days because as an elite member I should have taken it back before 30 days for a new one. Now I am stuck. Buyer beware.

the Roku product is awesome. The personnel at the Best Buy store in Onalaska were helpful in picking out the product that would fit my needs.

I'm really happy with my purchase, it has been a great device for streaming my own media along with Netflix, vudu and others. There seems to be a lot of 4K comment available in the services that I use, which I was surprised about. I also really enjoy the option this device has compared to other Roku devices of being able to power off and not just sleep. My only con is that the device runs a little hot, even with the cooling option available.

Works great with new system - integrates well with wireless remote

We've been ROKU fans for years, starting out with a ROKU as a streaming device back in ~ 2010 or 2011. We've had ROKU 2, ROKU 3, plus and now ROKU 4. We have two set up in our home and use both at once. We purchased our 1st ROKU over other streaming devices because we original streamed content with our HD Panasonic BluRay player, but that always cut out despite a FAST cable internet connection and had such limited channels. We called Netflix (the one we used most at the time) and they said the best streaming device for Netflix was ROKU. We've never been disappointed and have stuck with them. I suspect other devices work well too. The ROKU 4 replaced the ROKU 2 (not our Roku 3) in our home - Unfortunately when you move up, you will lose programs that WERE available with that other retiring device but are NOT available in higher models. Example; Angry Birds, which came with ROKU 2. But it finally died and is not available on Roku 3 or 4 as Roku no longer has a contract with them. Roku 4 doesn't seem to be faster than our Roku 3. The remote does have a "find me feature" (nice) and voice search. We have no drop outs on Roku 3 so this for us was not necessarily an upgrade, just a replacement for a 5+ year old ROKU 2 that finally died. Roku makes a great product with more entertainment options (especially free ones) than even a large family could watch. We subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, Curiosity Stream and Amazon Prime, having dumped our Cable TV subscription long ago. We only use cable for the internet connection needed. We'll be staying with Roku products. We also watch so many free channels on ROKU -- no time for anything else.

Great upgrade over the Roku 3 that includes 4K support and better cooling. The ability to use head phones with the remote is a nice bonus.

This Roku 4 streaming device seem to be well designed and works fine in a hardwired network. I think the remote could be better designed.

We recently upgraded our TV and in turn upgraded the Roku. The quality of streaming as well as new features was well worth the purchase.

I go this for my apt. Works great and the speed is super fast. I would definitely recommend it.

I have had the Roku 3 for a long time and have been very happy with it. I have not had the opportunity to take advantage of the 4K streaming yet but overall the Roku 4 is working fine.

What can you say? Likely the best streamer out there. Smooth operation, great picture and remote.

This roku 4 is great if you need to make your TV a smart tv but to use 4k video mode you need a 4k tv
