Customers love the 4 Streaming Media Player's picture quality and ease of use, frequently praising its simple setup and smooth performance. Many appreciate the 4K streaming capabilities and the convenient voice search function, although some users have noted concerns about the remote's battery life and the device's tendency to generate heat. The headphone jack on the remote is a popular feature for some.

It produces a great picture, unfortunately I don't have 4K TV yet butt still some of the ultra HD comes through and the picture is fantastic. Occasionally it freezes up and I either have to take the batteries out of the remote or unplug the Roku itself and plug it back in.

I have long loved my Roku, but after a few years I knew I could get more from a signal strength standpoint and in responsiveness. The 4 definitely delivers. I can't utilize the 4k piece but the interface is improved and most importantly, it's faster. Which is the big thing.

We upgraded to this Roku when we upgraded our TV to the 4K resolution. It's a good player but not worth the upgrade from the 3. If you don't have one, then this is the route to go though. It has some 4K content but most of it requires you upgrade those services.

I bought this before I had a 4K TV. It worked as well or better than my streaming stick. With 4K it works just as well. The isn't' much 4k content available as yet but it sends the Netflix signal in 4K perfectly.

I have every roku released but the roku 4 was a big let down with its noisy fan. I exchange 2 at Best But and two through Roku and still the noise was loud. Today with a new firmware update, fixed the problem!

This Ruko is great just like the rest of them. If you have a 4K set this is the one to get. If you don't save money and get the 3. The box on this is slightly bigger, but still very small. Just don't keep stuff on top of it as it can get pretty warm.

Better than the Roku 3. Easy to install and sync with my Samsung edge plus. In addition is voice activated. Love this new feature. Buying another for a different room.

What you would expect from Roku plus 4K

Roku is not new to the set-top box arena. In fact the Roku 3 (that brought voice search to party), was a serious piece of hardware back then and remains a great product. The new Roku 4 offers lots of apps (blah), more fluid interface (blah) and certainly, a new very smart search (more blah). At the end of the day, what makes it appealing (if you already have one) is the addition of 4K support. If that is the feature you want... well go ahead and lay down the loot. The lingering question is... are there enough 4K streaming sources/material to justify the extra money? Too late for me anyway!

Very easy to use and install. App navigation is easy. The only suggestion I would make is to add a lock on the remote. I always sure on it and it sends me home and I have to find the show again.

The roku4 really is a great device. It has a very intuitive interface, and it handles a vast array of apps, including Amazon Prime (which Apple TV does not allow for competitive reasons). The roku is also fast and reliable, it connects reliably to wifi and streams content without failing. This is also one of the few media devices that can stream 4K content currently, and it is beautiful! The only real weakness it has is that if you have Apple devices, you cannot use your iTunes content on the device as you would with an Apple TV - obviously, there is nothing Roku could do about this, Apple intentionally protects this capability to give itself a competitive advantage.

    Very Capable Media Streamer

Have owned a WDTV, Apple TV and this player works so much better. The interface is by far the fastest - content is king - Apple cannot compare. The 4K option did it for me. This paired with a Sony 4k TV (also bought at Best Buy) is a perfect match. May have bought the new Apple TV - two deal-breakers. No 4K and limited support for 3rd party apps. Must have Vudu and Amazon app options. Only downside is it does not play any of my downloaded 4K *.mp4 media files. This is something that I hope a Roku update will fix.

I went looking for an alternative for my clients in the streaming department. Using a blurry player for streaming means constantly resetting as it will freeze up, secondly the blurry player is just plain slow... Netflix taking 20-30 seconds just to load, and buffering when you know you have plenty of band width. Enter Roku with multiple levels of product for different needs wants and desires. 3 seconds to Netflix, 4 seconds to Amazon Prime... this is a streaming device built for speed, great picture quality, and intuitive menus. For those who are not fans of Apple products(me) this product is above and beyond anything offered on the market right now!!

Having previously owned both generations of chromecast, fire tv stick, and now this, I can easily say this far surpassed my expectations. At one point I debated on getting this purely for the 4k capabilities alone but thought, "Well my *insert other stick here* can basically do the same thing"... welll. No. No they can't. The UI of the Roku compared to the others is extremely polished feeling and not overwhelming, very eye friendly, and easy to setup for myself (much tech knowledge) and my in laws (can barely run an iPad sometimes). The best part about this is the performance though. It packs a much bigger punch than I expected and I have not been disappointed at all with it. No real big gripes with this, only minor user issues with the remote but that is not a problem with the unit itself.

I bought this to replace cable service. The picture quality is amazing. The setup was simple. The Bestbuy sales associate told me to setup my Roku account on my PC and then link it. I noticed several reviews mentioning problems.

The Roku is so easy to use and I can get all the shows that I want. It makes my regular TV a smart TV. I checked other systems and this came up as being the best. I love being able to catch up on series that are no longer on TV.

Finally got tired of tossing get out nearly 225 bucks a month for TV and internet. Picked up a gigabyte Greenlight Internet and took the satellite dish off the roof. Needed something to get the Internet onto the tv. There are a lot of services out there so I plunged in with Sling and Amazon. Roku was great choice. Went with the 4 since we had laid out for 4k tv. Seems solid and easy to use. A couple odd things that are annoying (fixed favorite buttons...rather have my own choice for example) but it works as promised.
