Great TV for kids and cableless homes!

My only complaint seems to be the response time from the remote. Sometimes it lags or won’t lower the volume right away. Outside of that we love the Roku programming that’s defaulted to the TV since we don’t have cable. Wish the remote was a bit bigger, with kids they seem to easily misplace it.

ROKU is the BEST Smart TV for 2 reasons: 1- Navigation is simple to move between streaming apps. 2- Unlike other Smart TV platforms ( IE... FIRE TV, Google TV, Samsung, TIZEN, or WEBos), it plays nice with other streaming APPS. If you have technology challenged family members that need or want a smart TV... this is the TV to get them.

Screen flickering after 20 mos - headed to recycle

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked it for 20 mos but now the screen has begun flickering and using factory reset, power cycle, etc doesn't solve the problem. The back light is dying. I bought this shortly after Roku first released them. I've used it a lot. But being low priced it would cost more to repair than to replace - so (SIGH) off to recycle. Maybe the current production process is better than the early? Wife has a newer version of the 40" which is clearly different (e.g. no RGB in for DVD) so maybe the design has changed? But I wanted to buy USA brand and now it is back to TCL because a TV shouldn't fail in 20 mos.
