More options than fire stick significantly less buggy than chromecast. I got this as soon as I heard it was released to replace my chromecast that was driving me crazy due to errors and hang ups every time I tried to pause something! This has been a perfect replacement, nothing negative to report. I also have the 2016 roku stick (black) and have not noticed any differences between the two, performance-wise.

I purchased this as my Roku stick remote stopped working and rather than ordering new remote which is just available on roku site I purchased Express streaming media player from Bestbuy which has its own remote and has almost same price as that of just Roku stick remote- $30. Plus I do not have to wait for shipping so just picked from shop. Setup was quick and it works fast. I was doubtful if this will be slower but its works relatively well. I am happy with this purchase.

I have two rooms in my home where I did not add cable TV. This ROKU device allows anyone using those rooms to view cable TV thru my providers streaming app. It's more cost effective when compared to renting additional boxes from the cable company. And, the rooms have access to other streaming services. The device is hidden just behind the edge of the TVs so it's barely noticeable. So far I love it!

I like this small piece. It is as fast as I wanted and have widest variety of channels.

This was a replacement of an older Roku player. Nice and small and easy to install.

I've used Roku now for years and had hoped that this version would not disappoint. My biggest complaint is the remote being IR - you have to have the player mounted so that there is line of sight between the player and the remote, otherwise it simply doesn't work. For the price, it does the job, but I'd recommend you go for the Roku stick for both performance and a better remote experience.

So east that a beginner can install it. I move it from room to room and it takes about a minute to install. Works best if you have a good wifi connection in the room you will be using the device. Great device. No real need for the more expensive devices. Works great with the mobile app. You could plug headphones into your smartphone for private listening. Highly recommended for people without smart tv's.

This Roku was super easy to connect to my television. The price was very reasonable.

I was skeptical about purchasing a Roku after being a proud Chromecast user BUT I'm throughly impressed! I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend who hates Google Chrome and didn't want to deal with casting. It's one and done. Just plug into power and the HDMI port and watching Netflix has never been easier. I love the remote control feature. It makes the whole process much more user friendly.

I got this for a really good price and i love the roku system so it was a win win for me. i did purchase the streaming stick prior to this but it didn't fit so i went with this instead and it works and fits great. the reason i gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that the little receiver needs to be placed so that its visible for the remote and it has a double sided tape it comes with to attach to your tv so if you wanna switch the roku to a different tv it might get annoying.

It said my TV was capable of "full HD" 1080 but for some reason it is saying it's operating in 720. Not a big deal for the older 32' TV it's on but for my 75" UHD I'll choose something else.

After looking at various products, including a smart Blu-ray player, Roku was recommended to me. After looking at the various Roku products out there, I decided this one was exactly what I needed for a really great price. I am absolutely happy with this purchase.
