I chose the Roku Premiere+ verses other versions of the Roku mainly because it allows an ethernet connection. Love that it has the Spectrum app to stream cable and allowed us to get rid of one of the cable boxes. I did notice MLB Network is not on the Spectrum app (in my area at least). Wireless seems to work fine also, but I like to play it safe and use the wired connection.

Easy to set up and operate. Excellent quality and fast and efficient delivery.

I am a long time cable customer and wanted to watch some of the content only available on streaming services and needed a device that was easy to use, but met all my needs. I read all the different explanations at Best Buy on the display and decided to get the Roku Premiere. I am very happy with it. I set it up very easily and I have not had any problems at all. I recommend it.

Roku Premiere seems to be more user friendly. Better picture then the Roku 3.

I bought this last March 30 because I have been enticed with the ability to listen privately via the remote control or the app and a headset. Also, when I activated the device after connecting to the wifi and started installing channels, I found out that they have the Spectrum channel. We have a Spectrum cable subscription in the house but I don't have a cable set top box in my room. After I installed the Spectrum channel, and login using our Spectrum account, I found out that I can also watch the international channels included in our Spectrum subscription. It then looked like I also have the cable set top box, without paying a monthly rental. I also have a Fire TV, but they don't have Spectrum app in the app store. I was contented at first, but after 2 or 3 weeks, I had to exchange the Roku device to a new one, because it stopped connecting to the network, couldn't get it to connect to the wifi. I tried all possible troubleshooting options, but nothing worked. I tried restarting the device several times, I tried resetting the network connection and I also did factory reset, I tried connecting the device to the TV closer to the wifi router, and I even brought the device to another house and tried connecting to their wifi but nothng happened, it won't connect to the wifi or internet. I got frustrated and had it replaced. I just hope that the replacement won't fail and better compared to the original purchase and to the Fire TV. I had my Fire TV for more than a year now and it hasn't failed yet ever since.

definitely plays up to your 4k upgrade; cost is commensurate with purchase of earlier-gen models of roku. it's sort of a staple

I've really enjoyed the Roku. In general it's been really great and easy to use. I bought the version that is supposed to adjust the sound so louder things and softer things are at the same level -- I haven't noticed that this is actually true. I do a lot of volume adjusting. My only other complaint is that the hulu app doesn't allow for the profile selection, so I ended up using my chromecast to watch hulu.

The Roku Premiere+ is a fantastic cord cutting device should you wish to drop your traditional cable/satellite service and use streaming in addition to an OTA antenna. The Premiere is essentially the same content as the lower priced models with the addition of 4K capability and the "marriage saver" ear buds to listen to your shows without bothering your significant other.

The Roku gives you lots of different ways of being able to stream movies.

This is my second Roku. I moved my Roku 3 to the bedroom so I could use this new one on my new 4K TV in the family room. There isn't a lot of content available yet to stream 4K so I can't comment on its quality. I love both of my Roku devices. I connect the Roku 3 wirelessly and it has no issues with lag. The Premiere is direct connection since it is right next to the router.

Is a great addition for when there isn't anything on regular TV to watch.

I only bought this to watch Acorn which I cannot seem to do on our "smart" tv. It does a great job for this. If I did not want Acorn, I could have gotten by with the tv as it has apps for Amazon and Hulu. The Roku can get a lot of channels, most of the useful ones are on the smart tv. Most of the others are useless. I would recommend it only if it has a channel you can not get any other way. Not because it does not work well, it does, but why pay if the channels are available built in your smart tv.
