GREAT WAY TO AXE THE CABLE CORD!!!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked online first at Roku.com to see info about their streaming players. What impressed me the most is the 4500 CHANNELS AVAILABLE ON ROKU!!!!!. None of the other streaming players showed many channels AT ALL!!! Then I went shopping and comparing Best Buy.com to see more info about my Premier+. The salesman at the store told me I had to put a credit card on file. I use a prepaid credit card for internet safe shopping. But once I entered my account on the internet, I was really impressed at all the channels. It was fairly easy to start up on Roku.com. Sports, gardening, old movies, newer movies, old TV shows, radio serial shows, horror, music, trains, 4K shows, anime......you name it, it's there!!!!!! AAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDD you do not have to "buy or rent" channels or movies if you don't want... There are so many free ones to choose.... All you need is internet with decent speed, computer, TV with a HDMI plug and credit card. I have had it flip out a couple of times. All you have to do to reboot is unplug it's electric for one minute and two minutes to reload again. My cable box takes at least ten minutes!!! When I saw all that Roku Premier+ has, I am kicking myself for not buying this SOONER. All I added was a universal remote so I have TV volume control, also. Well worth every penny!!!!

Nice and speedy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this a day before the new version came out. I got the update that the new unit has. Works great and I said good buy to the cable company. I paid for my Roku in the first month with the savings. The Roku streams a very good picture. I bought two more to go on TV's in the bedrooms. Plus you can put this model anywhere and the remote works. This model uses radio signals to transmit, plus you can use your phone to change channels and type searches quicker than using the remote. Bonus in my opinion.

The Roku is easy to understand, easy to set up and easy to use and the price is right. The remote is extremely, intuitive which makes navigation a snap. All in all I'm very happy with my choice.

Q: QuestionWhat are the main differences between the Premier and the Plus?
Asked by Mydie.
- A:Answer The best that I can tell from the box is that Roku Premiere plus has HDR (high dynamic range). I have the plus version. The picture quality on 1080p or better shows is fantastic on our 7 year old DLP TV. There is an app that shows 4K aquarium screensavers which looks 3D on this TV.

Q: QuestionDo you have to order Sling TV as well or is in already in the Roku device? Do I get to pick the channels I want or are they already preprogrammed?
Asked by Jonesy.
- A:Answer Sling is an app you can download but it does cost 20-40 dollars a month

Q: QuestionWill this new version of Roku or any of the older versions work with a DSL connection? I don't have high speed internet. I'm really interested in this product but im unsure if it will work without a high speed internet connection.
Asked by Needtoknow.
- A:Answer Most DSL Connections are either 3 Meg Down or at best 6 Meg Down. I would not recommend any of the 4K Streamers with that type of Internet Connection. Best try Roku Streaming Stick (2016 Version) it streams at 1080P which should work. if your DSL Download Speed is 1.5 Meg you will have to upgrade your Internet Speed or Roku Device will not work correctly. It will buffer so much you will want to throw something at the TV with all the buffering you will experience. Recommended Speed for Streaming Devices is 6 Meg Down for 1080P and 25 Meg Down for 4K Content.

Q: QuestionAs new Apps come out, can you download and install those Apps on this Roku, or can you only use the Apps that are pre-installed on the Roku? If the answer is No, only can use pre-installed Apps, how can I find out a complete list of Pre-installed ones?
Asked by AJer.
- A:Answer Roku updates their apps. As new ones are added, you can find them in the streaming app section and add them to your app list.

Q: QuestionWHAT CHANNELS WILL ROKU PICKUP DISCOVERY CHANEL,, ANIMAL PLANET , ID CHANNEL VELOCITY ECT ?
Asked by ALLY.
- A:Answer Depends on what service you subscribe to (Hulu, Sling, Netflix, Kodi, etc) and which of their packages you have chosen. Hulu, for example, has a package that includes Discovery, History, ID, Logo, TVLand, BBC, Syfy, Science, NatGeo, Comedy, MTV, Spike, and much more. You must have an internet connection. Remember, also, that if you have more than one television there has to be a separate Roku for each if there are other persons viewing in your home, or simply move a single Roku from one television to another if you are the only one who watches. The great part is that Roku costs nothing except the initial cost for the hardware. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionHow does this Roku Premiere+ connect to a TV that has a sound bar via optical cable? How this Roku differs from Roku 4?
Asked by Charlie.
- A:Answer it still connect's the with hdmi to the tv and the sound bar deliver's the sound from the tv so the roku doesn't really factor in it. the hdmi deliver's sound automatically to the tv through the cable. The sound bar just put's the sound what come's through the tv out to you. The Roku 4 has the ability to use the search with talking into the built in mic on the remote.and it come's with headphone's and work's with 4 2k TV's.Take Care I hope this help's

Q: Questionwhat is streaming media devise why would i want one already have direct tv
Asked by jeff.
- A:Answer A streaming device is a device used to install various apps and stream content. Streaming content is watching TV and movies over your internet connection. Most of the time people purchase them if they are looking to minimize their cable bill be dropping the cable box and paying solely for internet. Depending on your cable provider some streaming services such as HBO Go are free with an internet subscription. They can also be used to view videos from your phone or tablet on the TV. Currently I use mine to stream netflix, & HBO Go as these are my only outlets for shows and movies.
