Yes it will. Connect to wifi like any other device. The WiFi standard you quoted will do the handshake process for you.

It would ultimately depend on your internet velocity but AC routers are capable of higher download speeds than N routers. Using an ethernet cable would always be faster because with wifi there is always risk of interference.
