    Easy setup

Best tip I got from reading reviews was to have a Roku account setup prior to hooking up. I have a 50” Sharp HD tv and a Yamaha Surround system. I plugged in the HDMI cord into back of Yamaha other end into Roku, then output from Yamaha to HDMI input on TV. Works perfect, no sound problems. I cheated and ran an Ethernet cable from the router to Roku. Remote setup was easy… install batteries and it paired to Roku. Then plugged in power. Took me all of 15 minutes.

Absolutely love the Roku line. This one is towards the higher end of specs, which I enjoy. Very customizable home screen etc, which is awesome, can add ONLY the apps/services I use, and remove the others. Great screensaver videos to prevent burn-in.

    Fantastic 4K Streaming Solution

After living and breathing my Apple TV for so long, I got frustrated with no 4K option available or in sight. I made the jump to ROKU and have not regretted it since. Between NETFLIX and my 4K digital copies on VUDU and other discs, I could not be happier. There are more app and streaming options than Apple TV and its just awesome!!! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a 4K solution or overall wide range of streaming solution.

Good device, poor documentation & support

I like Roku products. Prior to the Premiere+ I had the Roku 3 which I liked very much but it was taken out by a lightning strike. We upgraded to a 4K HDR TV so we wanted a Roku with those capabilities. It seems Roku rushed their new line of players to market with very little in the way of documentation. There isn't much on their website and the box did not include an owner's manual even though one is listed on the box. What was confusing was their description of the "Enhanced Remote" or "Advanced Remote" as it is called out in various places. There is nothing advanced about the included remote. When they say this model has voice search, they kind of hide the fact that you only get voice search via the phone app, not a voice search button on the remote such as the Roku 3 had. Contacting their support was useless, evidently those people have not been brought up to speed on the new players yet. The good news is that it is easy to set up and has great response time. The picture is excellent, the 4K and HDR are wonderful features. I would recommend this to a friend if voice search isn't important to them.

    Great Streaming Device

Moved into a new house and needed a good 4K streaming option in the living room, wanted to keep it out of sight behind the TV and the RF remote allows me to do that! Had an older Roku 2, this is notably faster with quick navigation, apps launch very quickly, and so far the quality is excellent. Tested some 4K streams on Netflix and they looked so good. Overall very pleased so far.

    Happy with this purchase!

This is my first time owning a Roku box and I love it! It's a little pricey but after purchasing a "smart tv" for streaming, only to get it home and realize it was not equipped for Hulu, I researched and found this to be a good option. Other than the 4k capabilities, it's really not much different than a basic Roku. I do love the private listening option though. However, on the very first day of purchase, I connected the headphones which worked fine at first but the volume started to go out altogether or begin to sound robot like. I would either up the remote volume or unplug and replug, at which the sound would return to normal again. It has not happened again, which it may have been a glitch within the channel and not a problem with the Roku. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this Roku box

I purchased this product so I can stream NFL Sunday Ticket TV as a satellite no longer feasible. I questioned whether this would live up to the hype and it did. I had a login issue with the NFL Sunday Ticket App but it cleared up quickly. I also did not realize the number of other programs available for use. If you purchase one, make sure you set up your account first as you will need to link the device with your account.

    Great Roku!

As a longtime owner of several Roku's, I would like to give this device a 5 star rating. My purpose buying 2 new Premiers at Christmastime 2017 was to upgrade my 2 streaming sticks. My reasoning was the sticks didn't have the processing power that I was looking for, and seemed to lag when you changed channels. I also had trouble running the streaming station "Shudder" on the sticks because of their apparent lack of memory. *My opinion on that of course. That being said I have the 2 Premiers hooked up and connected to my 5G Wifi in the house and they work amazingly fast. I did add an additional memory card to them since as a long time subscriber I have a lot of channels on mine. I would actually recommend to everyone that they buy a small inexpensive memory card as well to get the most out of the Roku. Even with that additional recommended investment, it's a Great Overall Value. I've had (2) base units, (1) Roku 2, and (2) sticks, and these are by far the Best of all of them.

We're on our 3rd Roku for our TVs and this model is the best we've purchased so far. We wanted to upgrade our LR unit and decided to go with this one. It has a crisp picture and some apps have an improved speed.

    Great Visuals, Poor OS

I was really excited when I found out Roku was coming out with a 4K and HDR ready device as I recently upgraded to a 4K HDR TV. Set up was fairly easy and once the definition was set to 4K with HDR I was really blown away! It had stunning Visuals and upscaled watching apps like Netflix. However, I ultimately decided to return it because of its clunky Operation System. Roku's home screen was not sleek or stylish and was half Covered by ads. I was excited to use the Roku with My PlayStation Vue but Roku's version of the PlayStation Vue app was designed very poorly and completely turned me away. I just think Roku focused so much on picture quality that they did not focus on style and user interface. There is so much potential here but until then, I will wait this one out.

The Roku device works well enough but there are a few things to note for those who have never owned a Roku before. There are 3 issues with this device that I wasn't expecting... The Roku premier plus does not come with an HDMI cable, You have to create a Roku service account that requires a credit card or PayPal link to this account in order to use the Roku at all! Finally there is no power button so this Roku device stays on all the time. These issues may not be a problem for some but a device that doesn't come with all the necessary cables or forces you to give a credit card even if you don't intend on buying any extras and on top of everything else it doesn't even have a way turn the device off? I don't know about you but that's more than enough for me to pass on this.

Not quite a replacement for the Roku 3

This model fills the slot that the Roku 3 used to fill. The Premiere+ gains 4K video capability, but loses the voice search through the remote feature the Roku 3 had. You have to move up to the next model to get the voice search again. Not sure it's worth the upgrade over the lower model with the lost voice search now. The Roku 3 was worth upgrading from Roku 2, but with the new models, compare them carefully and only buy the one with the features you can't live without.

I love turning on my new Roku Premiere+ to the Netflix app and watching The Crown and Chef's Table. The colors are beautiful and make you want to reach out for the image on screen. The only problem I have is that the device has glitch with the HDMI, causing the screen to go dark for 2-3 seconds at a time. Restarting the device helps get rid of it, but it starts up again two weeks or so later. The image quality is worth putting up with the glitches though, at least for me.

One Serious Problem you NEED TO KNOW ABOUT

This is overall an excellent steaming device. It is fast, it's easy, and setup isn't too bad. As a matter of fact, I only have one problem overall with this player: It's the fact that it can't play the Amazon Video app correctly. Therefore, IF you use the Amazon video app, you are going to have a serious Lip-Sync issue. That is going to cause the audio to come .5 secs before the video. I've taken this issue up with both Roku and Amazon, and it's a known issue. According to my own research, there are people who owned last year's Roku 4 and were also experiencing this issue in December 2015! So, I can NOT recommend this player if you plan on using the Amazon Video App. No other apps that I've used have this issue, but the Amazon Video App is a major app and it not working correctly is enough for me to recommend this product with caution. This issue affects the Roku Ultra and the Premiere+.

I purchased this as an upgrade from an Amazon Fire stick. It does the job but the user interface is poorly designed. It is significantly faster than the Fire stick. But it is still very annoying for me to use and my wife will probably not be able to use it easily at all. It takes way too many button clicks to do almost anything. And first you have to get through the Roku menus and then you have to get through the app menus. Its tedious scrolling and looking and clicking. The channel paradigm is still a useful and intuitive way to organize content. There should a least be an option to organize the interface this way. Another great improvement would be a way to assign cross app short cuts to a customizable start up page. Don't let them get away with this poor excuse for a user interface. Help by letting them know how annoying this is and that they can do better.
