Good but annoying random audio drop

I have Roku 4 and was looking to upgrade to streamer that passes HDR at 60 fps. But there is a random audio drop for about a second every few minutes that the Roku 4 does not suffer. I tried 3 different Roku premiere plus and they all exhibited the same issue.SO I'm going to wait until the next generation form Roku as this one has problems.

    It's just ok...

I've owned this for about 3 months now. Error messages regularly when streaming from Youtube, private listening is glitchy with volume issues and only working sometimes. I have to unplug and replug the headphones back in when sound just goes out. In the middle of streaming, screen just goes fuzzy and I have to restart the device to get it working. The remote goes through batteries like nothing I've ever seen. I've replaced the batteries every 20 days or so...Dollar brand, Energizer...brand doesn't matter it eats them up. This is not worth the money it costs. If a Roku is what you want get the cheapest one or go with another brand of streaming device.

    Not impressed

I've been using this device for about 3 months, and I wish I would have purchased a Fire TV instead. I use the Roku primarily for PS Vue and Netflix. Netflix streams fine, but the Vue app is not good. Regular buffering, choppy screens with live shows, and no guide - I will most likely be selling my Roku to buy a Fire TV. (it is connected via ethernet with internet speeds around 40-50 mbps)

Major audio bug affecting all Roku devices

    Posted .

As of 02/01/2017 - Warning! Roku currently has a MAJOR software bug affecting most devices. DO NOT PURCHASE. There is a bug in EVERY SINGLE VIDEO APPLICATION which causes major audio delays. Plex, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix etc all have issues randomly where the audio for the movie or show you are watching will be terribly out of sync with the video. So if you like 2 second delays on the sound in your movies or tv shows go ahead and purchase. There are multiple threads with over 20 pages detailing these problems in the Roku forums. Roku has been stringing us along for over two months now. But all we are told is "its being looked at". DO NOT BUY ROKU UNTIL THIS IS FIXED. CURRENTLY NO FIX IS SCHEDULED.

streaming company that cannot do wifi connectivity

    Posted .

I saw quite a few reviews that talked about Roku's inability to stay connected to wifi. I was fairly confident that a company that is based on internet streaming would know how to successfully do wifi connectivity. Surprise - Roku Premium + indeed cannot stay wifi connected. It worked fine for about a month then began losing its internet connectivity. Resetting the Roku (a time consuming fix) seems to make it work for a short period of time. My Samsung TV connects fine as does my Amazon Fire TV Stick and my computer. I ordered another Amazon Fire TV and will see if there is something I can do with the Roku anchor. Unbelievable that a company whose basic business is based on internet connectivity fails at that basic requirement (and they just announced that they are going to try to do a 100 million dollar valuation IPO).

Constant Resetting because of NO SOUND.

I own a Samsung KS8000 SUHD tv. I purchased a Roku Premiere+ to replace buggy Roku 4. The first time I set it up, it downloaded the most current update. I immediately had no sound. I had to reset the unit. The sound came back. The very next day, I came home and turned the tv on after work. Again, no sound. I reset the device, and the sound came back. This is a buggy device. I will be returning it. Roku is getting ahead of themselves, and their quality is dropping. It's a shame.

    To many commercials

Bought this for watching SLING. I have high speed internet. It is not buffering, it is looking for another commercial it can give you not the commercials from the station but others. I guess it gets paid by them. Does not work right with VUDU. Can only get stereo because the movie starts right up and does not allow you to go to the movies menu.

Can't talk about the product. Activation sucks!

Unbelievable that Roku didn't test the activation process before releasing the product. After multiple attempts and connecting with their customer service it's a known issue for two days and no resolution. Very disappointing!!!
