I bought this hoping to use it on a tv downstairs that we only use occasionally. It worked, but was noticeably slower than our roku ultra. It was very close to our wireless router, which is a new dual band router that has the directional wifi priority that directs the signal to the devices using it. All that said, I don't think internet speed or wifi signal is what slowed it down. I think its a good fit if you only plan to use it sparingly, but if you want to use it everyday you're probably better off trying one of the new roku stick+ or the ultra which I've really enjoyed.

This is my first Roku. Installs super easy. You do need to power it via usb ac adapter. Setup is super easy. Menus are zippy. Have not noticed any lag over wireless. Able to use 5G which was nice. I use this on a 2010 internet ready tv. This us by far easier and less buggy than using the tv. Especially Netflix.

I travel a lot so having this Roku is so convenient. I literally just connect it to any tv and have access to all my shows and movies. I love it!!

I went in knowing I wanted a roku device, and the in-store person helped me determine this stick would fit my needs - it was the cheapest option!

Couldn't find anyone to help me in the store but I found what I wanted, spent half an hour deciding between models and am happy with my purchase.

These roku devices are very simple to use and we added them to 2 televisions in our house.They have worked perfectly and we are happy with them.

Can't afford cable but this is worth its weight in gold easy to use i am 62 years young and i am enjoying my friend who is 80 got one loves it

This ROKU works great, always updates on its own, if I cannot find the remote I can always use my phone. Better than an older model i replaced.

Love this thing! Never knew we needed it until we got it. Makes life so easy. Smart tv and this thing endless possibilities and easy to use !

The answer to not being able to afford cable, satellite, or the new Apple TV is Roku and Sling...If you are new to Sling they will give you a Roky streaming stick for free. DirecTVNow is also offering a streaming channel which is better than Sling, but also more expensive but way less than cable, satellite or AppleTV. As long as you have a strong internet service, Roku should make you happy. My ATT isp is really poor pay for 18 Mbs but receive only 2 - 4 Mbs and I can almost always receive programming via Roku from Sling or DirecTVNow.

Roku Streaming stick gives the best feel of Movie World and Music. Lots of Channels are included in it. Love using this Tiny Streaming stick

It was very hard for me to decide which route to go rather it be roku, amazon or apple. I actually ended up with both roku and amazon, have not tried apple yet but may still having mixed feelings about that one. the roku stick is honestly my favorite because i have an older TV in the bedroom and i am on who needs tv to sleep and there is no extra wires it just plugs into the back of the tv in HDMI plug the usb into the usb slot on the tv (its better to plug into an outlet better power) and watch away. Got rid of regular cable 2 months ago use netflix sling hulu and amazon and havent really missed much of anything except the DVR and these days everything is available to stream basially the next day you are ok. highly recommend

I purchased the basic Roku stick, because it does everything the more expensive Roku's do without all the extras I don't need. Roku is simple to use, it just takes a little time to set up. While it has tons of channels, I only use about two dozen of them...some are just junk. If you like to rent movies without leaving your home, this is great for that. The only thing that bugs me, is that you need a cable provider to use many Roku features. It a great product for the price.

I didn't need any more features offered in the more expensive units, but had also been told the cheaper roku was slow. This model was just what I needed. Some nice things about it: No line of sight needed for remote, point it anywhere, plus the connected to tv unit is hidden Can use with my iPhone for wireless listening Really small, I can easily move it to other tvs

My old Roku died and I needed to replace; not a bad idea since I have the Streaming Stick for the TV in my bedroom. Since activating the Streaming Stick, not only am I able to go to and scroll through my preferred sites faster, but I can turn the TV on and off and adjust the volume (even when I am not using the Roku).

I have other Roku devices (previous generation and current) and was surprised how well this streaming stick performs. Would highly recommend.

This is great if you a "dumb" tv. There's a attachment called a sideclick which can replace most of your tvs remote. I highly recommend that.

The Roku stick does exactly what it says it does, it turns a dumb TV into a smart TV, wirelessly. I put a 32-inch TV with an HDMI input in my kitchen, now instead of running a 50-foot HDMI cable, ($50.00), to this TV from another room, I get Netflix, HBO, Etc. at the same price, it's awesome. I've only had it for about a month but so far no problems, it Works flawlessly.

I purchased this Roku stick so that I can eliminate a cable box from my monthly cable bill. It was fairly easy to install, and works great!

Purchased this item on sale at my local Best Buy. This item hooks up super easy...Unboxed it and set it up in less then 10 minutes..Heard some negatives from the older version about slowness and freezing up. I have had this unit hooked up for a few weeks and zero issues..If you order this stick, make sure it is the 2016 model as improvements have been made over the older models.
