I was tired of the programing provided by my cable provider. So I decided to get Netflix. I didn't have a smart t.v. so I needed a way to connect through my network router. This was a cheap and effective way to do it. It works great and easy to set up.

Ditching cable was the best idea ever. Roku was easy to set up and use.

I have only used it to stream Netflix on my kids 7th but they love it!

I recently purchased the Roku to stream Netflix for the kids while traveling outside the US. Works great for Netflix, YouTube and Amazon outside the US. Some services like Vudu and Hulu did not work based on "copyright" laws or services not offered outside the US, but worked for what I needed and the unit is very small which was perfect for traveling. The power cable is standard 120v plug which worked while traveling and the menu / user interface is very quick. Kids picked up on the remote control features very easy and made it very easy to use. Now that we are back from traveling its plugged into the main tv in the house using one of the TVs HDMI ports on the side. It connects to the Internet through wireless and is easy to setup if you the the router and password, never had issue with lost connection or streaming while traveling or in the US.

I bought this Roku in NYC, the sales person suggested this model and he was absolutely correct. It was easier to install than older models and it works great. The small additional cost compared to some less expensive models was well spent.

a best buy floor person tried to sell me the more expensive roku products which my tv could not support but i chose the low cost stick which was on sale at a very low price. it works great on my big screen tv. no trouble whatsoever.

The streaming stick is a great inexpensive way to stream video. If you want to lower your cable bill by getting rid of set top boxes I highly recommend this stick. If you have a cable subscription, you can use all of the channel apps for free.

Much faster than the prior stick. I thought I learned to live with the slow performance of the last one to get the convenience of the stick, but this one makes me realize what a sacrifice it was. Netflix streams fast and with no glitching/buffering..

Great speed improvance, relatively equal to Roku 2. Compared to Roku 2 is about same. But with the benefit of not having anything on sight. The streaming stick behind tv for me is a plus to have the roku 2 here or there at open view on living room.
