Room to improve
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 of these things. One failed after 3 weeks. If you're buying it, just know that the available free content is the equivalent of endless YouTube clips. Paid content makes this worth owning, but it will eat into your monthly budget.

Cutting the cord - not simple!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was thinking of dropping cable and going with a streaming service. Just too many things to consider - Hulu, Roku...- you have to sift through all the available services to get the program's you watch. May cost more but cable is simple!

Good idea, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a very good idea, but the problem I had is that the remote stopped working and it was dead in the water from that point. I exchanged it & paid a little more to get the unit with the Ethernet (internet plug) option. If or when the remote dies on the Ethernet unit, I can still access the unit with a universal remote. However, with this particular unit I was not able to access the device after the remote died. There are literally platforms and chat threads dedicated to "what to do if your Roku remote dies". Hello, Roku, your remotes are a serious issue! Anyway, I should have to spend hours researching a fix online, the very next day after purchase, for any device.

Ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this mainly to access Netflix It seems like everything is clicked on wants me to sign up or enter billing information. It might be me not looking enough but it seems time consuming and not much free stuff. Good for Netflix though

Okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The remote is bulky, clumsy and lacking in user-friendly functionality such as easy scrolling. The menu options are not intuitive or fluid and multiple selections are required before you get to what you are interested in watching.

Thought it would be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works and for my purpose, it is sufficient. Have to be patient as you can't just zip around the channels. My wifi speed is maxed out at 12mps so maybe the clarity gets better once AT&T gets around to boosting their signal.

Good only if you already have a strong WIFI signal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Suggest you have a direct ethernet connection or cable connection to the Roku from the TV. Download service will be much faster. Up Grade to the Roku that has these connections built in to the unit and you will be fine.

Roku...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Roku is not my favorite by far. It does the job and he gets you what you need on your television, it doesn't do it fast enough in my opinion. It's a really slow device and again, it does the job. I knew speed would be an issue unless I purchased one of the higher and Roku's but part of the thing that bothers me about Roku is there are so many of them. Apple has one Apple TV, Google has one Chromecast and Amazon has one fire stick. Why does Roku have like eight different Rokus? That's right because some have HD some do not, some play 4K, some have a remote, some do not. It's really confusing and unnecessary. I would not recommend Roku

Roku 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An Ok streaming device. The search button is is a bad place on the remote, it gets pushed by accident regularly by all users. Roku needs to be unplugged about once per month as it locks up. Good content and performance is ok.

Save your money on this worthless junk.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You still have to pay for any services you contract with. It is really just a way to spend your money for nothing. And be sure you have technical expertise to make it work; or are an expert on this technology.

Not So Much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product and eagerly tried to hook it up to my Samsung Smart TV. After painstakingly going through all the hassle of taking the TV off the wall and making the connections, I received a message saying this Roku product would not work with my TV. I had a pipe chase installed so none of the wires would show from the TV down the wall beneath it. In addition to it not working with my TV, the Roku product required a plug in which would mean I would have a cord coming off the side of the TV, down the wall, past the fireplace, into a plug. Not very attractive!

Not as easy to use as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took forever to get this item to work. Roku customer service wasn't much help and we spoke to them daily for over a week with no resolution to the issue. Ended up getting help from our cellular company instead.

It's ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is not a bad product in that it does what it is supposed to do. The only thing is picture quality not exactly stellar. Even with a 1080 p tv and setting the roku to same setting its resolution is not that clear.

Some Uses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The stick must be plugged into your TV and it must also have good access to your wifi. I reconnected it to the wifi at least 20 times over 3 days. Went back and got the one with a base and works like a charm.

Needs work on having better quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Forward and rewind are really bad! No control. Roku determines when it's going to stop. It's really frustrating. Nice that it's a stick and easy to set up but it needs some work to make it a better product.

Not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these and ended up returning them both, yes they are portable but it dose not offer everything and you cant customize it like you can other sticks.

Good intro videos on how to set up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Roku opens up a variety of choices in viewing. I haven't taken full advantage of all these benefits yet but I like the many options. I am hopeful I can reduce my cable bill by viewing movies through my Roku.

Not overly impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read that a Roku stick was a good device for streaming but I'm not too impressed. When it works its fine but more often than not it struggles to connect to Wi-Fi and have had this problem in multiple places.

Had Issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had issues with this on our main TV. There seemed to be some conflict with our WiFi or internet. Our other TV with the Roku built in works just fine. It was only the TV with the stick that gave us problems.

Wish it lasted longer than a year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy the Roku streaming stick; however, none have lasted longer than a year. I have purchased 5, all with the same lifespan. For the price, it should last a whole lot longer.
