The new Roku is by far the best streamer compare to the Chromcast and the FireTV Stick. I wish Apple would make one of these small dongles that connects directly to one of the HDMI on your TV. The old one is just okay, but this new one is very fast and provides many options.

I've been a user of Chromecast for some time now and for the most part have been pleased. After using the Roku streaming stick, I no longer see a purpose for my Chromecasts. The Roku is a breeze to setup and use and neatly keeps TV and movie channels in one place for easy access and even has a remote (which I'm too old to be excited about... but I am.)

I have this Roku and an Amazon Fire TV. I prefer the interface, presentation and remote of the Fire TV, but it is also double the price, so this is more than capable. My only issue is that it is dropping the TV coverage of MLB.TV during games which is frustrating. Fire TV hasn't done that at all. Otherwise, they are fairly comparable.

If you were an owner of the previous model, this model streaming stick is one you should seriously consider purchasing. It runs smoother and fast than the previous model and is still affordable.

I actually have both Roku sticks, and although the previous version worked acceptably, I always though the interface was lacking a little in the speed department, the UI takes its time to move around. After starting a movie, that isless of concern, but getting around is a bit of a bear. This new version has the same interface as the previous one, but speed is at last where it should be. Responsive. Same remote as far as I can tell but just works better. I have not tried listening using the mobil app, but should be a good feature. The app s otherwise very good. I wish the app could completely replace the remote if I travel, but that would be the only knock.

The Roku Stick is an excellent streaming stick. Its fast and has easy to use interface. The remote is very functional and its easy to control the Roku with the D-pad.

Needed to replace an old Roku box at my mom's house. She wasn't running ethernet to her livingroom, so no reason for the full box. Works fine. Plugs into the TV and is never seen or heard from again. Works as advertised.

This is a great option when space is limited, or you just don't want to see a Roku device. It's remote is RF, so you don't need to point the remote. I'm a big fan...

I bought this to stream video (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc) in place of my Playstation 4. I went with the Roku Stick because of it's compact size and the extra channels my PS4 doesn't offer. The Stick does needs a power source- either a wall outlet or the USB port in the TV. will do fine I have been using the USB port in my TV but that doesn't always work. After a couple of hours I will get a message on the screen that essentially says the power source had failed. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I would say if you're looking to buy this make sure you use a power outlet, not the TV USB port.

This is the best Roku for the money. You get most of the features for a much cheaper price. Plus it's so small it hides behind your tv. Definitely recommend.

I purchased this on a whim during a work trip when I was worried that I would get spoiled before seeing GoT(!) It worked seamlessly in the hotel, and all hotels I've taken it to. I have a Tivo, Xbox and could already stream from a laptop to my TV, so I had no shortage of devices that I could use for streaming video. This is definitely my favorite. I hadn't intended to use it at home, but it works much better than the other devices for streaming, and the interface is dead simple and perfect. I'll probably end up with a second one- -one for home and one that lives in my suitcase.

This new 2016 Roku stick is amazing. It's so much faster (even faster than the fire stick now). The quad core really makes a different and there are so many channels it can hold. Highly recommend. It's also sold at a great price

I have 3 other of the older Roku devices and this one is heads and tails better than even the Roku 4 i have from the previous generation. Switching channels and menu's are much quicker. The picture it produces is great. Only draw back is the power cable that comes with it. The cable goes off to one side or the other, which puts it in the way of the other cables on the back of the TV. Also makes me nervous that it may pull on the port or device it self. Zip ties help hold it up and provide come support.

The Roku streaming stick is a great little device that uses your wifi network to connect your TV to a large number of streaming services.. Installation is fast and very intuitive. Picture quality is excellent. At $49, it's a bargain. My only caution is that you must take Roku's recommended minimum internet speed seriously. Anything less than 10Mbs will result in buffering (which is not the fault of this product).

Of all the streaming sticks I've used I always find the best overall experience with ROKU. So easy to use, load all the apps you like with no issues. Remote control is an added plus!

If you are looking for something to take the place of an expensive cable bill this is the item for you. We love being able to connect to our Netflix, Amazon Prime accounts and more! Great bang for your buck.

Roku is so EZ to setup plus a lot more then the other streaming sticks on the market.

I had the previous Roku stick and honestly it was very slow. This new stick is light years better than the previous stick. Everything in the user interface is responsive.

Got this as an upgrade to my old RoKu 2 and found it works better and I love that it's so small and portable.

Although I received this as a birthday gift from my daughter, it is the exact one I was going to purchase myself. I did read other reviews on it and I couldn't believe how incredibly easy it was to set up. Although I did get Netflix, there is a host of Free movie channels which do have some great flicks. You do have to watch commercials, but hey, they're free! There is allot of other interesting free channels also. Best birthday gift I ever received!!!!
