This is the third Roku that I have owned. I skipped the last generation because my older Rokus worked fine. I like the Roku interface and openness of the platform. Apple TVs dont have Amazon on it, Amazon doesnt have Google on it, Google doesnt have Amazon on it... its a mess! Roku has almost everything except for Apple purchases. This device is really responsive, powers off the USB port on my TV, and the updated remote is nice. I definitely recommend!

I was looking for a streaming device for the TV in my son's bedroom. This was everything I needed. Rokus are known for their availability of apps, and this one doesn't disappoint. It was easy to setup, and the remote doesn't have to be within line-of-sight (which is good since the stick is behind the TV). I also like that it has an app for your phone/tablet that lets you control the Roku and stream the audio to headphones connected to your device.

Very happy with this device so far. Got it for "free" when prepaying for three months of Sling TV service. It works well for Sling TV, and definitely more responsive than the Amazon Fire TV Stick that I've used in the past. Have had no issues watching content through ESPN, Comedy Central, ABC, ... apps. I was able to project my Windows laptop screen through the device. Also have used it to stream content such as music or videos to my TV.

Works like a charm and easy setup. Compared to my past purchases the roku beats the competitor .

The stick works great for our everyday use. One thing we also appreciate about it with our small children is the ease in taking it on road trips and using it in hotels. A predictable set of shows at hand removes one uncertainty from vacations. One thing to note is that the stick, unlike all the other devices, used an RF remote, not wifi like the other devices. There is no app control.

If you are a beginner or technically challenged Roku products are easy and quick to set up. They are reliable and have a variety of devices. I bought this one to use the private listening through my phone, I have had the Roku 3 for a few years and haven't had any problems with either. If you want a variety of free channels and subscription channels this is the product for you.

I got this for a bedroom television. It was easy to hook up. There are a ton of channels (many of them somewhat obscure) but the go-to's such as Netflix, Hulu and Vudu are included which is what I was looking for. In addition, if you have a cable provider you may be able to download some of your channels to your Roku stick as well (for example ABC, FOX, NBC, etc).

I have been enjoying my Roku. I recently got ride of my cable service and switched to SLING TV and needed the Roku Stick and remote because it came with the SLING TV app. It also came with over 3000 other apps for you to enjoy. This is the best product to have if you don't have a smart TV. I absolutely love it!!

I purchased this Roku as a gift for my father in law. I have a previous version of this Roku that i use all the time. It was a breeze to set up for him on his tv. It actually made me want to go buy this newer version because the apps are more updated. Very happy with my purchase.

I already had a previous version of Roku streaming (the purple one), but I found this new device works better and faster tah the other one. For example, to load Netflix it takes about 15 seconds (using a 20 mbps connection), since the purple takes about 90 seconds.

I purchased this for a bedroom TV. Being able to power it from the USB meant fewer cables and less clutter. Fast and fluid, the only drawbacks are no voice search or earphone jack built-in to the remote. These are available via an app for phone or tablet, though.

I got this because I didn't want to spend the extra $3.75 a month for TWC's digital adapter box. It works amazing with the app and I get all the channels that I would if I had a cable box in my room but without and of the wires. Definitely will recommend to everyone.

I upgraded from a Roku 2500X and this is night & day different in speed. I am extremely pleased with it. In fact, I bought two...one for my living room and one for my treadmill. $50 is probably worth it, but I got one for 10% off from Best Buy and one $15 off on Amazon.

I purchased and returned the previous version of this streamer as being unacceptably slow and laggy. This new version has reasonable speed (although nowhere near as fast as my 4th gen. Apple TV), and is a great value, so I can watch my UV movies on our secondary TV.

I really like this much better than the fire stick. It's a big plus that it can be powered by the USB port on my tv with no unsightly power cord to conceal. Also faster than the older version Roku stick.

I got this for my parents who currently don't have any other "smart" devices. There was a slight challenge setting up because the default language was Swiss, but once we were able to correct that, the rest of the process went smoothly. So far so good! It even has pre-installed games that they can play on their TV for free.

As a previous owner of an older Roku 2 (2720R), I was curious to see how the new Roku Stick might compare. I'm glad to say it compares very favorably and saved me quite a bit of money compared to buying a new Roku 3 or a Roku 4. What I'm missing out on is 4K content (I'll wait until there's more of it), a headphone jack on the remote (I only used it once on our Roku 2, though I did like it), a memory card slot (I would use this why?), and a wired network connection (why bother if you aren't streaming 4K and have anything faster than wireless-g). Otherwise, the unit seems to be plenty fast & responsive, the remote is nice, and you get the same wonderful channel lineup and search features that Roku has near perfected. Now why the big-name players like Samsung insist on integrating their own not-so-great "smart" TV features instead of an integrated Roku is beyond me...

Easy to install, except for the "pairing of controller" instructions. Quick & friendly support by phone or email. Easy to master usage with a little trial and error. Now I feel that I have virtually the whole entertainment industry at my fingertips.

I have had no issues with the Roku stick or the remote itself. Start up is quick and it does not freeze up like some reviewers have reported. My problem is that it interferes with my OTA antenna reception. I have contacted Roku support and they sent me an extension which didn't help at all. I have to work around this by plugging the Roku power cord into a wall outlet that is controlled by a wall switch so I turn it on when I need it. A bit inconvenient but the only thing I can do since I am not able to return the stick being that it is beyond the 15 day return policy. Curious as to whether the Roku 2 or 3 would work better.

I first started on the Roku back in 2013. Finally decided to fix my spare bedroom and provide entertainment there as well. It was time for another Roku. I remember hearing about the sticks but wondered if they really work the same. It does. And less space! I enjoy the background and screens savers on it. It's fast no lag time movie from channel to channel. A must buy for those who stream! Also, Roku will send you a free HDMI extender which is helpful if your roku is away from your router or in a room with a lower signal. Instructions on how to get it are included in the box.
