If you don't have a smart tv, you don't need it as long as you have a Roku. I got it because soon you'll be able to use it instead of an xfinity box. Until then I enjoy Netflix, Hbo go, Amazon, and also Google Play. I didn't expect that last one. The device is fast. No hesitation whatsoever. I was on the fence between the Roku and the Amazon Fire stick and I do not regret my decision.

This stick is a major upgrade to the previous model. It is much more responsive than it's older counterpart. I am satisfied with it's performance thus far.

Before the Roku, we mainly used the PS3 for streaming. The Roku has made streaming so easy. It's always read to go. It's easy to get the apps for NBS, HULU, etc. and Netflix and Amazon are already built in. I don't know why anyone would get a cable package anymore. BONUS* Since it's an election season, I'm still able to watch debates, etc. live on the ABC News app or the PBS app.

Works great, I love the netflix button on the remote. Bought this for my elderly mom to watch Netflix on and this product is very easy to use, set up, & VERY user friendly. I recommend to everyone who is interested.

The Roku device is easy to use and set up. The on-screen entry of things like WiFi passwords is cumbersome. However, there is are Windows 10 and iOS apps that let you use the keyboard on your tablet/computer/phone. These are particularly useful for searching channels and adding channels from the Roku channel store. It's nice to be able to stream YouTube to the TV without getting the laptop as we do not have a smart TV. The free month of Directv Now was also a plus.

Bought this because our previous Roku's remote broke. The remote works for both sticks (one upstairs/one downstairs), but we usually use the phone app for controlling the stick! Roku is great, again for what we use it for, like access to our Netflix account, without having to hook up the computer. Also great for traveling when we get wifi free at hhd hotels.

Roku stick recommended by Best Buy employee as it has been improved. Unless you want all of the bells and whistles of the Roku 4, the streaming stick should meet your needs. The bonus is it is very small and remains hidden. The position of the HDMI port on my tv required the extender that was provided for free from Roku. It arrived quickly. Installation easy. Has been working great.

Bought this for my daughters TV. Hook up was extremely simple. Slide it into an open HDMI slot, connect the AC to a wall outlet, plug the cord into the Roku and fire up the TV. Found the Wi-Fi right a way. Channels clean, crisp, images, no delay, no shudder, no pixilation, fast and responsive. Was pleasantly surprise this works just as well as the full size Roku 3 perhaps better.

This streaming stick is so fast that it beats all others and some of the desktop versions. I was debating this versus the Amazon Fire Sick and once I found out that the Roku can be powered by a TV USB, but the Fire needs its own power to be plugged in it became a no brainer. The only thing you do not get is the Apple TV choices but Amazon has similar rental deals as well as Vudu.

So you load up the remote app on your phone and there's a new headphone button in there that will stream the audio from the roku to your phone, or headphones connected to your phone. The audio stays in sync and it just works! Additionally, it the remote screen capabilities work great from my laptop and allows me to use it as an untethered presentation device. Again, it just works.

We have an older Apple TV and we were going to get a new one, but thought it was overkill for our needs. We don't do gaming and hardly use Siri on our iPhones. The Roku Stick is inexpensive, simple and performs well with Netflix and Amazon. It's all we need. Really like the one button close-captioning. Taking it to Mexico next week to see how it does in a report environment.

I had been trying to access Netflix on a "smart" DVD - which was a disaster (difficulty connecting, slow, frequent crashes, etc). Went back to my old standby - Roku - and have been thrilled. Easy to set up, connect to wifi, and it works like a charm. I especially like that I'll be able to disconnect and use this stick when I travel- so small and easy to transport.

Works good, I having had a problem at all. Way better that the older version.

Great user interface, very reliable, very few pauses or stutters, unlike the DVD player with apps that it replaced. Overall great experience.

We had a TV in a guest room that is rarely used, and I got tired of paying for a box. The ROKU let's our guests watch movies, reruns of recent network series, and even live news from their home area. Great investment. We even throw it in the suitcase when we travel in case our hosts don't have cable in their guest room. We hook it up with our phone "hot-spot" and we're good to go.

No complaints. Great size and easy to use. I really enjoy their menu system.
