Even though it may have some nice features, like 4K and Dolby Vision, its not really going to fulfill the needs of a true power user with the newest HDMI 2.1 tv and full home theater system. But for someone who has a nice 4K tv, and a decent soundbar, this thing should be able to do everything you need. The only odd thing is that the Sling TV app is prone to freezing about 3-5 times a week. And you have to go back to the home screen. Or maybe there's one channel in which its just behaving weird, and you're gonna have a bad 10-30 minutes in which the app is freezing. But I needed this at a moment's notice, and for the price, I really cannot complain.

Replacement Roku

Older model was working just fine until I got an "over heating" message while watching tv one night. Didn't want to fry my tv so I bought another Roku. Works just like the older model except it is not overheating. Really like the Roku devices and will probably keep buying them. Great streaming device for the money. Lucky it was on sale for $10 off. Saved some money.

Great dilution to cutting cable expenses

Xfinity allows to use xfinity streaming and it is not available through Android, so I could download the app to my Sony smart tv. I connected the Roku streaming box, and was able to return the Xfinity box.

Posted .Hi Myoko, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. In the meantime, please try this simple step: carefully unplug the power cable from your Roku player and allow it to cool down. Ensure it has good ventilation and is not in an enclosed space. You can also try installing a free HDMI extender to move your Roku away from the back of your TV. Perfect reception with my home WiFi and completely reliable. The application menu is very easy to set up and customize. Coupling the remote to my TV was the easiest I have ever experienced, unlike the complicated remote setups you have to do with the cable companies.

Roku works well, will need to step through a few interfaces for channel selection, but remote has quick start buttons for Netflix, Hulu, Disney, AppleTV. Roku app allows remote control from smartphone. I prefer Roku over Amazon Firestick due to some options & features that allows better navigation from remote. I would definitely consider another unit to replace additional Xfinity cable box as needed.

Wireless Movie Nite

The Android stick didn't have Spectrum TV and after research, I found that the Roku did. The only issue I had was fitting the stick and the cables into the compartment of the projector. It had an extra cable attachment that the Android Stick didn't have. With patience, I was able to fit it in. I installed the Roku App on my phone to allow the projector to use a Bluetooth speaker (the speaker on the projector is good for basic stuff, but for movies you want a bigger sound. The Roku stick works well and setup was easy.
