I wanted to make an old “dumb” TV smart and this is exactly what was needed for a low end older TV. The functionality is exactly like any Roku-based smart TV. With Hulu, YouTube, Prime, and Netfix apps, it has rejuvenated an old TV. The setup was super simple - plug into an empty HDMI port on the TV, turn it on, let it figure out the TV brand to set the on/off and volume controls for the remote, hook up to your Wi-Fi, and you’re ready to set up your various streaming service accounts or just use the freebies.

Alreayd opened the package so i couldnt return it. Havent used it at al because i already have a firestick in my loving room and i use my PS4 for all my streaming needs

They work perfectly for turning any tv into a smart tv to stream from all the providers. I specifically like Roku because I can stream my xfinity tv subscription through this devise without having to pay the monthly fee to comcast for additional cable boxes on all of our tv's.
