Watch out for the lemons

We cut the Verizon/TiVo cable and converted to streaming services. We went with Roku based on what seemed to be mostly satisfied customers. One of Streaming Stick 4K devices locks up at least twice a week. When it locks up, sometimes it goes to a black screen and sometimes it freezes with video on and sound off. Only powering it off and on again gets it back. You can't even get to settings to do a restart. Customer service, either through Roku chat, or messaging is useless. If you're lucky enough to get through to them, they just read from a script that tells you to power off & on, then do a system restart. Nope, no joy. Their support messaging sends you an automated "we got it" reply and then you never hear back from them. The other two sticks work great, and we're happy with those performance and features. So if you get one that works, you're good. If you get a bad one like we did, you might as well take the $40 out of your pocket and throw it away.

Better than basic cable

Roku was recommended and we are trying it. With a learning curve to begin with, we are now enjoying a lower tv bill and more viewing options on our not-so-smart tvs.

It’s a little long for the space provided on the back of the tv for HDMI connections, but the connection is good even so. Best to measure first to be sure.

Amazing works as intended even on the worst TVs

It also has a power block just incase the tv doesnt have a usb port.
