Works half the time....

I've had to swap them out under warranty several times. If you get a good one, it lasts forever. If it's bad, you'll notice within a month or two. If you get the warranty, they'll simply give you a new one each time.

Too invasive

This is the third Roku device I’ve purchased and this is the first one to require too much information to activate and use. I have enjoyed using previous versions.

To bypass adding a payment method during Roku setup, you need to navigate to the payment information screen and look for a small, often easily missed, option to "Skip, I'll add later" or similar wording. This option allows you to create a Roku account without immediately linking a credit card or PayPal. You can then complete the rest of the setup process without providing payment information. It just randomly toggles to other streaming services while i'm in the middle of a movie or show. I've pretty much stopped using it for now. For people who have no other choice it's probably better then nothing.
