Worth the $50

However, it's a little redundant to basically purchase this, just so you can set up your other apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, etc...the one advantage is the ease of unplugging and taking it with you when you go on vacation, etc...as long as you have a wifi connection...you are good.

You can't go wrong with Roku

I've used other platforms and tend to gravitate to Roku for the features, ease of use, and quality for the money. Are they perfect? No, but what is? Sure, adding an input change button would be ideal, but it's not a problem to use the TV remote for something like that, in my opinion. The oldest Roku device I have is a Roku 3 that's about 9 years old and it still works (slower than newer Rokus but it works fine).
