    Well I purchased the Roku stick and couldn't really even get it to properly load or set up. I called the company and stayed on hold for 20 mins before I had to go. I swiftly returned it the next day and bought the roku 3, which is awesome.

    I'm guessing it would work fine if a. the internet speed in my mother's house was faster and b. my 85 year old mother had a moment of patience left in her. Unless the person using this is tech savvy, don't bother with it.

    Space is a premium in my small shop and I was worried that sawdust and other stuff might get into the moving parts of a Bluray player, so this device seemed like the perfect choice to get Netflix out there. It was small and inexpensive. Unfortunately, it has a really slow processor in it, so it wouldn't play video at full resolution or at the full frame rate. It's like watching bad Facebook video. Frames are blender together so people smear across the screen as opposed to walking across. So I returned it and got a Sony Bluray player, which streams Netflix just fine. I will say this - I really liked how on the Roku, you can decide what channels to have on your homescreen. With Sony, you have soooooo many things that you'll never use, but with the Roku Stick, you can pick what you want and this includes headline news and a few other things my Sony doesn't. If the quality of the video weren't so bad, I would have kept it.
