Response time is very slow component and I wouldn't recommend someone seriously considering this for a True conversion to a smart tv. I hate it only have it because it came with the Tv.

I have numerous streaming devices, including SmartTV, AppleTV, tablets, etc. I bought the Roku Streaming Stick for 3 reasons - 1) to access particular channels (Gaia) that are not available on SmartTV, 2) to be able to take with me when I travel, and 3) the very affordable price. It was very easy to set up and I can now take my yoga practice on the road.

Spent hours trying to hook this up. After many hours wasted, I returned the product. Bought Apple TV and was up and running under 5 mins.

I bought the Roku Streaming Stick to get HD channels on a TV where I was not planning to have a cable box. Wow, I am totally pleased. No box or extra wires. Hulu and Netflx work and look great. Very easy to set up and use. There is a small lag at start up while it gets connected to your network and starts streaming, but if you have a good wifi connection you should have trouble free viewing. I love that I can just switch over to the Roku and get HD without the hassle of adding a cable box. As a Time Warner customer, their Roku app allows me to get the HD programming that I would have had to add a cable box to get. Everything hides behind the TV out of sight, which I really like. The TV I put this on has the MHL HDMI port that allows you to use that version of the Roku Stick. There are 2 different versions - one for MHL HDMI and the regular version. I didn't know about this at the time so I can't take advantage of the built in capability. I may buy the MHL Roku version as that will allow me to use my TV's remote and only have 1 remote and note two. But for now, not a big deal.

Bought this to replace streaming content through an old blue ray player of mine. Super easy to install, use, and enjoy. The image quality is perfect, no buffering or freezing like I had with my blue ray player. It also will see 2.4 & 5mhz from my dual band router. Netflix may take 20 seconds (not sure why that app takes longer than the others) to load, but once it does it is super-fast. Love it, no complaints.

I had to return the item because it did not fit the area where it needed to be plugged in on my daughter's television.

This piece of garbage didn’t last 6 month. Would not recommend

Got this device as a gift for my mother for Christmas. I set everything up for her but it has still taken her a while to figure it out despite being fairly tech-savvy. What tripped her up was when searching via the main ROKU search, it shows PPV results and not the free options (when available). She searched Friends, the TV show that became available for streaming on Netflix this month and what came up was watch not for $15 instead of the free option. So that is my chief complaint, it should show ALL of the viewing options not just the paid. Picture is good though and I liked the remote.

Wish I had not wasted my time on this purchase. There are better products that do the same thing that this item could not.

Second Roku Stick I've purchased. Will not buy another Stick.

this is a piece of sh.. the support su.. i would rather buy a Googlecast that works like a charm.

I did not like it. But I guess it depends on preference.

Wanted for FOX News, although they advertise the channel is supported, it is not the live channel

This streaming stick did not of very many apps. Returned it and got a fire stick.

I hooked this up to my TV in my bedroom and it's perfect. I was able to add so many other applications. It's very easy to hook up. Very easy to use. It's not a box taking up space. It doesn't have a lot of wires and you can easily hide it behind the TV. The remote is very simple and I can use my phone as well. Personally, I say buy a regular LED or Plasma TV without the smart TV feature and purchase the roku stick. You get more on the roku anyway. Smart TVs cost several hundred dollars more than a regular TV. Just my suggestion.

After purchasing a larger tv, I found out about ROKU that was in the packaging of my TV and brochure. As someone who hasn't had cable for well over 7 years, ROKU is the best thing ever! The channel store rocks and is constantly being updated on a regular basis so now I have like tons of channels and within each channel are like hundreds of shows, episodes, all types of movies, anything you can think of it's there, I have to say this is the best purchase of the year for anyone who like me refuses to pay extra for cable and uses a laptop for your Internet TV, ROKU definitely rocks, and for only 50 bucks you can't beat it at all!

The ROKU streaming stick is simple to use, generally powerable from your TV USB ports, and simply works. While not as fast as a Roku 3 or Roku 4, it's simplicity, and small size make it wonderfully appropriate for plugging into the back of a wall mounted television. I have a number of these in the house, and absolutely love them on my secondary televisions. ROKU's channel store is simply the best and most full featured one available, and the number of channels is always growing. Fantastic.

Pain to use. You have to sign it up with evey station separately

I bought the ROKU Streaming Stick for my parents cause I have the ROKU 3. They use it in their room to watch netflix, hulu, and several other of the features. It was easy to set up and easy to use. They love it!!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my parents so they can use Netflix. It is a little slower than the Roku 2 that I own but is perfect for my parents. It plugs into the HDMI port on the TV and setup was a breeze.
