We have two of these at home and we routinely buy them as gifts for friends/family. Simple to setup and use, great for those wishing to "cut the cord"!

I bought mine from my local bestbuy to allow me to stream local music on my home network through my Audio/Video Receiver. Works great, easy setup, I really only have two complaints. First it is a little slow to boot up, but what do you expect - it's a computer the size of a thumb drive. Second I wasn't thrilled with having to authorize ROKU access to my paypal account in order to create an account. I bought this in response to directv removing their media share software from their dvr and for that it's been a great replacement. I had previously bought a C*r*m*C*st, this is much better.

I bought this for my Mother to replace an older Roku that died. It works well, but a little slow moving between screens. But once the show starts, its all good.

Compared to the Roku 3 streaming player, it's pretty much comparable. There are just a few differences such as the power not coming on until the TV is turned on (if you are using the USB to power it) so you have to wait for it to reboot. The remote is also a little different and not quite as user friendly, in my opinion, but not a big deal. I have been frustrated to find that carrying it with me on vacation and connecting to wifi in a condo or hotel is not as easy as I would like it to be. I have never gotten it to work even after reading forums online concerning the matter.

This Roku streaming stick is a game changer. We installed ours very quickly and were up and running within minutes. I synced it up with my devices, so now I can use my smartphone or Surface to control our Roku when I don't feel like using the remote (it's also MUCH easier to move around YouTube via smartphone when paired with Roku). The content opportunities are endless now. It takes just a little bit of time for channels to load, but this is a first-world problem and does not in any way diminish my excitement. We now plan to purchase an HDTV antenna for the local channels. It feels so good to finally be able to cut the cord.

This is one of the best media streaming devises that is affordable! It is very user friendly, you can download tons of apps and Netflix is super fast and clear on this devise!

Excellent product. For $50, a USB-sized gizmo will replace that expensive cable/satellite box, saving money and space! Well, between this and an HDMI cable to hook up the laptop for streaming things that aren't available on Roku (CBS I'm looking at you!). I don't have the world's fastest broadband but even so, there's been no problems with bandwidth / speed. If you're on the fence about the whole cord-cutting thing... $50 isn't going to break the bank (if you're currently a cable/satellite subscriber), and there's currently free trials for amazon prime and huluplus. Can't go wrong, try it now!

Bought this to replace a Nexus Player, as we started to run into numerous streaming issues after the Android 6.0 update. The Roku Stick has been great! Sure, it is a little sluggish when navigating between menus on Netlix and YouTube (the main menus and hulu do not seem to be affected). But once you get a stream started, there are little to no issues with playback. The fact that you get something the size of a chromecast, but also have an included remote makes this a great buy.

I bought this item for my small tv in the kitchen. Very easy to hook up and easy to use. Best part is that it doesn't take up any room.

I bought this to replace my old RCA streaming box. One of the requirements for me is that it had to have Netflix, Vudu, and RedBox streaming abilities. All of the extra channels for History, Disney, and others is just icing on the cake. It works great, it is out of the way on the back of my TV and the remote works well. It is a little slow to launching the apps and going between menus but not nearly as slow as the RCA box had been. I would recommend this product I can deal with the slow load times at least it's not another box sitting on my DVR.

The good: Roku works fine, even with my insufficient DSL connection. Easy to operate and always on. The not so good: it wouldn't set up properly out of the box. I spent at least a half hour with a very helpful tech support person who got it working (it was in beta mode out of the box). That shouldn't happen.

I bought this as a gift for my parents so they can run Netflix on a non-smart TV on their porch. I hooked it up and installed/setup the app - super easy. They don't really use it for anything else though I've tried to show them some of the other apps. Works exactly for what we needed

I love the Roku ! I also have an apple tv which I enjoy as well. The Roku has the flexibility to be able to download any streaming site you could possibly want as an app, on the home screen which the apple tv doesn't, I recommend downloading the plex server app if you want to stream from your home network. ENJOY!

I can't complain about this purchase at all. I like it so much I bought one for my parents home and an aunt. They also really enjoy all the features of the Roku. I also own a Google Chromecast, and have to say I like the ease of the Roku, along with the fact that it comes with its own remote over it. :)

The Roku Stick is a great idea—nice to have something so small that you can hide behind your TV while accessing so much. Because it doesn't turn off, however, I've found mine freezes incessantly. In addition, the remote works very poorly. The system works smoothly about 1 out of every 4 uses. Otherwise, I'm constantly having to Google restart options, etc. Hopefully they'll perfect the stick. In the meantime, it looks like the reviews of the other Roku box systems make those a lot better options—even Roku 1 seems to trump the Roku stick. Wish I had better things to say. :(

Who knew the Roku Streaming stick would be so simple to setup and use. I bought this for my daughter's room so that she could stream all her netflix, hulu plus and youtube videos. We ended up finding a whole bunch of other channels on the roku that she loves too. Also has a few mini games.

No other video box/stick offers more options for the buck. This stick tucks behind the TV in an available HDMI slot and is out of view. Seamless setup. Remote works well too without needing a line of site to the stick.
