Roku Rocks

Awesome little device

Takes a few seconds to boot-up, but not bad. I was really impressed with the Time Warner channel that is available. By having a TWC account I was able to get all my TWC channels through the Roku. I'm thinking of getting another one to eliminate my cable box in the basement.

Great for anywhere

Everything goes faster the more the device is used as it loads programming data, etc into the system. Will get the new (2016) 3600R stick for a second TV. It is supposed to be more powerful and faster. There are no issues with 3500R model so all should be good going forward. Highly recommend.

Snappy, Easily hidden, very simple setup

I have an Apple TV and majority of electronics are Apple related. The ROKU really complements my entertainment system very well. The numerous channels available (some only available with authentication of a cable provider, same with WD, Amazon FireTV and AppleTV) . The $49 price is perfect for anyone on a budget or needs an extra streaming media player in a different room. (my main player now). Setup takes a few minutes and you can manage your "Channels" or apps via the computer/net/phone if you like instead of surfing the ROKU Channel guide via the player. Its not slow, many have commented on how slow it is compared to the regular square boxes (Roku 2, HD and 3) Its snappy and quickly loads programs. Looking to make the leap to a media streaming player, Get the ROKU Stream Stick! VUDU, Blockbuster, Netflix, HuluPlus, M-Go, and lots of other services are available, Free 2 months of hulu and netflix, Free movie credited for VUDU and MGo. Try it all out or just one service. Even has "Daily Burn" for those exercise freaks out there. I still use my AppleTV for all my movies, as I said before I'm big on iTunes (movies and music) but everything else the ROKU is perfect. Im glad I have both, If you have an AppleTV, get a ROKU. You have the full package!
