Love, Love, Love Roku

This purchase was simply an upgrade to enable me to cut the cable cord and switch to YouTubeTV. Earlier Roku models don't allow access to YouTubeTV. This $45ish purchase will enable me to cut my monthly TV bill from $285 to $139 while ADDING NetFlix to my viewing repertoire.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this stick to use on a bedroom tv. i am able stream the channels that we were looking for, especially the spectrum app so we do not have to pay spectrum $6.00 a month for their cable box. only complaint with the stick is that it is a little slow to load when you first start, but once started it is fast to load. Also, when using the spectrum app you have to scroll through the channels instead of entering the channel you want to watch. i will be buying another roku stick for another tv.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within a week of setting this up for my parents, they got a message that the unit was overheating. It was burning hot to the touch. Apparently it is a known issue because Roku will send you an HDMI extender for free to keep the unit away from the power supply on the TV. It has worked fine ever since but if this is a problem they should include the extender with the unit.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We purchased the Roku so we can convert our 32'" tv in the bedroom into a smart tv and be able to watch our cable network without having to pay for and extra cable box and it is awesome. The only thing is that the remote does not have many options and I have to go back to main menu and back to guide in order to move from selection and it is not highlighter, usually we watch tv at night and you can not see very well the remote. Other than that, all is great.

Alternative to New TV

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm too cheap to buy a new smart TV when the one I have is large enough for the living room. I can now disconnect the old PS3 which was skipping and stream from this without any issues. The only thing I have seen is that the default screen with take a few moments to register the home button press.
