Cheaper than cable
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup. Once you setup product, you can transfer it to any tv in the house. I can use it on my smart tv and a regular hd tv. It gives you options during setup to add your favorite channels which is very convenient. I added YouTube tv. It's only $70/month compared to $150/month for AT+T U-verse. The only issue is if you have a wall-mounted tv, because there's not much circulation, the device may overheat after a few days. My advice is to unplug it from the wall outlet whenever you're not using it. It will start right up whenever you plug it back in.

Great selection for movie proams
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The installation was simple - it helps to look up Youtube videos on how to install. Also, the remote controls controls the Roku programs, as well as the TV, such as turning on the TV, selecting the programs and raising/lowering the volume. The TV remote is not required!

Major improvement over my prior Roku streaming st
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Appreciate mostly the convenience of the voice feature and TV volume & mute control. Easy to set up as well. Highly recommend for non-techy consumers.

Roku Streaming Stick
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Roku Streaming Stick in order to utilize Netflix on a “non-smart” TV that we have owned for awhile. The setup was easy and using the stick and remote-controll is a snap. I love having the ability to have additional viewing options.

Glitching / Freezing Up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We like the new remote bc you can adjust the volume and turn tv off but for some reason it keeps freezing up. Not sure if it’s the stick or internet connection.

Q: QuestionHow does this model differ from the "Roku - Streaming Stick (2016 Model) - Black"? They have the same model number (3600R) but the SKU on the 2016 model is different (4858200) as is the price. Are there different features or specs?
Asked by Wolfman.
- A:Answer I actually bought both versions of the Stick, so I can answer this pretty well. The Stick itself is supposed to be slightly faster, but I can't tell a difference at all with the new one. The interface is identical, but that's just software. The biggest change - and the reason I ended up buying the new one - is for the remote that integrates TV power and volume with the Roku. The 2016 remote only does the Roku through the WiFi. If you expect to control other things, that will require a WiFi universal remote, which is pretty pricey, considering all I wanted was to turn the TV on and off. If you've got a WiFi universal remote already or appreciate juggling 4 of them, then the 2016 Roku will work absolutely fine.

Q: QuestionWhat does the Roku Stick actually do. I've heard you can get a lot of different shows, We're in our 70's and not familiar with new products
Asked by Joey.
- A:Answer Roku allows you to stream movies and TV shows. There is some free content, but most of the apps require a membership that you have to pay for, ex. Netflix, Hulu, SlingTV. Streaming is shows (TV and movies) on demand, meaning you can watch them whenever you want, unlike TV where you have to be watching when it airs. The Roku channel has free movies available and there are a few other apps like PBS that you can access free shows on. You do not have to pay for service for the Roku itself, but you must have WiFi to use it.

Q: QuestionIs there a power source, or is the hdmi port the only one needed?
Asked by Auto46.
- A:Answer It has a micro USB port to run the power cord. Your TV's USB port might or might not produce enough power for it. I have a streaming stick for two TVs in my house. On one of them, the USB port in the TV works fine. For the other TV though, when I plug it into the TVs USB, I get a message on the Roku screen saying it is not getting enough power and to plug it into an outlet using the included USB-to-wall outlet converter, so I have the wire hanging down the wall from behind the TV down to a power strip. There is really no way to know if your particular TV's USB port will output enough power for the Roku until you get it home and try it.

Q: QuestionWe are looking at swithing from DISH net work to YOUTube TV. The Youtube TV site states Roku model 3800x is one of the compatible devices to use. All I am finding is Roku 3800R. Is there a difference and will the Roku 3800R work with the Youtube TV?
Asked by HOMECHIKIN.
- A:Answer I bought the 3800R this past weekend in order to get the You Tube TV app. It works flawlessly. Such a great device and You Tube TV is an excellent service - much better than Sling, IMO.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between the Roku stick and the Alexa fire stick?
Asked by Butterflies.
- A:Answer Roku is an independent company. You can install almost anything on it. You can even install Amazon video. Fire Stick is an Amazon product and amazon limits what you can install. For example: CURRENTLY you will not be able to install VUDU onto a fire stick because it is direct competition with Amazon Video. I have 2 fire sticks and 2 roku sticks. There are no words to tell you how much slower a fire stick is compared to Roku.

Q: QuestionDo you need cable to use Roku?
Asked by luv2shop.
- A:Answer No. Using Roku lets you stream video. You can watch some movies and shows sponsored by Roku but it allows you to access other services like Hulu, Directv NOW, Netflix, etc.

Q: QuestionThe description says it has a built in ethernet port but I don't one in the pictures. Is the description wrong?
Asked by bamaman.
- A:Answer It does not have an Ethernet port. It looks like Best Buy accidently copied over the description for the Roku 2. What this does have is universal remote features to control TV while the +version does 4K. The Express model is 5X faster than 2016 model but without the remote features and this model should work better while traveling such as dorm room and hotel.
