Goodbye Cable!

I purchased with the $50 Sling credit which made it even sweeter. I have both the Amazon Fire TV and Roku. The biggest difference is the interface and the Roku Streaming Player has the TV volume built in. Nice if you’re looking for a single remote period.

OK but not what I thought

Unfortunately the Xfinity Stream channel only works at home unlike the PC app. Also, the search feature is not what I expected. It was not showing the first thing I tested it on. HarmonQuest is free on a certain channel and it only showed me channels where you have to pay for it. The free channel in the search results was mysteriously missing. Also, I had to type HarmonQuest because there is no space in the title and the AI for the voice remote was not smart enough to pick up on that. It only searched for "Harmon Quest" which produced no results. What a horrible first impression this thing gave me. Even still I use it. Good for browsing through videos but the search you should not trust unless you get a free result. Also I searched all the channels on my PC and subbed to all the free ones I could and bookmarked them all. Now I know where to go for tons of content for free on my PC using the Roku as a guide. I'm not sure if I would recommend this product due to the problems I found. I have to say no because I'm wondering if the alternatives have the same problems and am thinking I should have bought something else. Not sure if I would be better off with a different brand. Its not bad though. Just average. BTW, there is no browser that is usable that I found and I'm pretty sure I looked at EVERYTHING.
