I could have plugged it into the USB port on the back of the tv but the tv didn’t put out enough power to operate it. I’m using a very small 19in tv with it.

I bought them to replace the cable boxes and they work great. I have 6 of them. They paid for themselves in 5 months. The only catch is, if you don't touch the remote in a 4 hour period it will shut off.

Great Alternative

After 6 months, the Roku pays for itself. It's ability to run a variety of apps makes it a great streaming device. Netflix, Hulu, Prime, Disney....all run great.

Free Sling for new subscribers only...

What's interesting is that it makes NO mention of this on the website; it's only disclosed to you AFTER you purchase the Roku. This is misleading, and I've been given the run-around from both Best Buy and Sling. I wonder if anyone at Best Buy will notice this review and make it right with me...

Has a better range than the fire stick.

It picks up our WiFi so much better! I originally went to buy a WiFi extender. I bought this instead and it works great without the WiFi extender. Wish I had known about it a year ago!

I love this gadget

I could no longer afford cable but I still wanted to be able to watch certain programs. With my new Roku stick, I watch only what I want with limited commercials. It’s the best investment!

Best Streaming Device!

Plus the access to all the other apps so that I can stream free movie and TV and rent or buy new and exclusive movie channels.

Great product when it works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love our Roku, however right now it gives us an error message every time we turn on our tv. We have tried everything suggested to stop this from happening, but it still does. All we have to do is unplug the Roku from the hdmi input and plug it in right away, and then it works fine. Still kind of a pain, though. We have another one in a different room that works fine.
